i say this for a reason, why because next sunday night will be the season premier of that zombie show. meaning most sunday night game will suffer low ratings. who is the real blame for the TV ratings, is it the Trump/Clinton circus? Kapernick and the other NFL stars kneeling? the upcoming walking dead episodes? they're the blame yes, but theres other blame(and is the primary blame for the low ratings), is the following demographic groups who are the blame: Nerds(too hooked on Walking Dead, Dr Who, Big Bang Theory, etc) and Macho Beer Drinkers(who spend too much time at bars drinking and talking ga-ga).

makes you wonder if Vince's XFL would have worked more today, rather than the attempt 15 years ago

ok.......just kidding. But it is kinda ironic how that "league" came about with one of their reasons calling the NFL, the "no fun league"

funny how 15 years later, the rules to make the game more robotic seem 1000% worse than they did back then

1.Peyton Manning is gone

2.The likable players like Rodgers, Brees, Rivers aren't stealing the spotlight

3.Too many dbags are winning. Sorry, young people in their 20s are not enough to keep viewership high.

It all started when the Sunday Networks (CBS&FOX) started protecting games - coupled with an increase of primetime games (Sunday Night, Monday Night & Thursday Night) means watered-down, weak games.

Tonight's gem is an excellent example.

The Election is playing a huge role in the ratings.
The election-year drop mirrors that of previous presidential races. “In 2000, during the campaign between George W. Bush and Al Gore, all four NFL broadcast partners suffered year-over-year declines,” according to the league. “Fox was down four percent, CBS was down 10 percent, ABC was down seven percent and ESPN was down 11 percent.”

I would imagine that the DALLAS COWBOYS are still money, when it comes to TV ratings..........
It's that STAR POWER thing....:D

The ratings may be down some but as long as they are in no danger of taking the Sunday night game off the schedule I couldn't care less. And if there comes a day when the Sunday Night game is actually discontinued because people are more interested in Zombie shows it will be a sure sign that the Apocalypse is right around the corner

Rivers was likable? When did that happen?

I kind of agree and don't agree. I have watched some amazing games this season, and so far have liked what I saw. What kills anything, whether it's sports, music, movies...you name it, is the media.

There's so much bad publicity surrounding professional sports, the media picking and choosing what games to show where. Spotlighting the WRONG players. ect. Think about it: how surprised are we when certain players get arrested?

The ratings have been slowly declining over the last couple years, so the election isn't the main reason.

The reason IMO is, the league is very boring. In my way I come off a Saturday full of fun and excitement with the college game where it feels anything can happen and you have some innovative fun football with intense fans. Then you wake up Sunday and turn on the NFL and see 10-7 type games and it feels so corporate.

It's just a very boring product.

Fear not my friends. There is a new gaming app that is going to change the way you watch and play football, just for the reasons that you talk about Oregonducks. It has gotten boring and they are aware of it as well...Hence the new app.

They were just talking about this on espn. They actually said they don't know if it's the election or not, but like you said that's B.S. this has been going on way before that

So....the NFL is boring because teams actually play defense? Ok.

Too many flags. It takes away from the flow of the game

If there are too many flags, that means players are committing too many penalties. They're not going to go back to the old rules because of injury lawsuits, so you'd better get used to the flags.
