Something to keep in mind. Elite QB's throughout their career for the most part have struggled to win in Denver. Brady is 2-7 against the Broncos in Mile High. Big Ben is 2-4. Drew Brees is 0-5. Rodgers is 0-1. Not an easy environment to come and play in and the altitude does seem to effect QB's quite a bit as the ball does seem to float a bit more on them. Wouldn't surprise me to see Cam miss long on a couple of deep passes that in Carolina might have been a completion.

Broncos also All-time best record for the AFC in season openers being 36-19-1.

More importantly.....what about rookie QB's in Denver?

I want to see that Denver run defense tonight. They didn't look so good towards the end of the preseason.

Really thought it was more

I highly doubt Garap will surpass Brady until Brady actually retires

Just a fun fact for you redseat. Our starting QB threw his first touchdown pass of college when he went up against Jimmy G and Eastern Illinois University. They won the game 42-21

Well I've watched Raiders fans for years predict this is the year they break out. I guess they have to be right at some point. The Raiders definitely have a roster that looks better than it has in years so can't really deny that. Mostly for me I can't stand Del Rio so in turn it makes me happy that he is your coach. I see the Raiders following a similar schedule to what happened while in Jacksonville. Build up for a couple of years then make the playoffs for a couple of years to then fall off the map very quickly. I'm looking way too much into the future obviously on some of that but I just don't think Del Rio has shown he has learned much from his time as a HC then getting fired and now hired again as a HC. I see him doing a lot of the same things he did in Jacksonville and I see him wanting his defense coached exactly like he ran it in Denver.

Doesn't matter, Denver isn't starting a rookie qb tonight.

Yeah I keep seeing this. I understand he hasn't taken any meaningful snaps in a game but there is a big difference between a guy who has been in the system for 2 years compared to a guy that just joined in April. I mean just knowing the playbook is a huge advantage for that 2nd year guy. Throw in knowing the players and having actually worked with them at different times. He has actually faced our #1 defense almost every day in practice for the past year and a half. With him being our scout team QB he was the one in charge of preparing our #1 defense for games. So not like he hasn't been doing nothing this past year. Now yes there will still be mistakes as actually playing in a live action game makes a huge difference but there are still some major advantages to Siemian being our starter today.

The difference is we finally have McKenzie who spent the first couple seasons cleaning up Al's mess (he was a great football man at one point but not many will disagree he was losing it at the end). He's trying to fix mistakes made by the previous regime.

JDR isn't great but he's a solid coach imo. He's trying to change the culture in Oakland. If he gets them into the playoffs for a few seasons and competitive and they become stagnant, they fire him and get a better coach. And they'll be a better destination for a better coach than they were before JDR.

C'mon.....his playing time was basically nothing last season. Most people will consider this to being his rookie season.

True. I guess just need to see a few things before I get too carried away. McKenzie to me has been a decent GM. He has had his fair share of mistakes but he has also hit a few home runs. Free Agency wise I haven't been all that impressed. We will have to see how this year goes with all the new pieces but other than a couple of FA's that have been consistent contributors most of them either barely made the team or were cut pretty quickly. So now just have to see how he and Del Rio do with the team actually having expectations put upon them. We have seen teams crumble in such a situation and others really rise up and become a consistent competitor. I just have no clue which way the Raiders will go.

The talent he got this offseason wasn't washed up. Most of them are smack dab in their prime. I understand the argument about scheme-ology and that is where Ken Norton Jr (DC) will need to be golden. I'm pretty excited because our pass D was awful and we added some good players. Plus, we upgraded the OL.

Our depth at LB is sick.

He's generally not that accurate to begin with, so this might actually improve his throws

Then most people would be wrong. He's inexperienced, yes, but calling him a rookie is wrong because he's not a rookie.

Haha well that could. I just usually see if he does miss he misses long in just regular altitude.

Are you saying Cam isn't a good thrower of the football?

Yeah, he puts a little too much mustard on at times. It's in character considering his impulse control disorder

Well as usual Madden does their simulation of the game and they have the final score of the game being 13-6 Broncos winning. Now while yes it is Madden they honestly have been more accurate than people usually believe. Wouldn't surprise me if honestly a final score like that happened with either team coming out on top. 2 of the best defenses in the game by far slugging it out.
