It feels like a 3 team race right now, if he doesn't stay home, he's gonna go to GS or SA. Next summer will be REALLY interesting though.

Nah. I can't see him choosing San Antonio over either Golden State or OKC. It is a 2 team race this year, but the field opens considerably in 2017 if he re-ups for 1.

Back to making shit up.
I've made no bold Heat predictions since Bosh redeveloped the blood clots.

It kinda changed everything, both last season and this summer, right?

Thing with you is, you run your mouth then go into hiding.

@WiggyRuss

After our brief discussion about Noah's value this off-season, I believe your words about market value were right. I was valuing Noah on a previous scale, based on player worth to the average contracts already in place. After reading more about potential offers to players, I think Noah's market value should be closer to 16-18M per year (which is INSANE). Even at those inflated prices, I wouldn't offer him anywhere close to that.

The salary FLOOR rules is what is going to cause a lot of mediocre players to make a lot of money this off-season.

The huge jump in cap space means a lot of teams have a lot of space to fill. Teams have to spend their money somewhere. Either spend it on players or spend it in salary floor penalties.

I don't know how the Celtics - for example - are going to get above that floor.

Like they did last year with Jerebko and Amir getting 12mil per year last year.

Or just pay everyone more like the Sixers did last year when they didn't reach the floor.

He probably does. But I think he wants money in the long run.

Anyone know how much Horford is asking or can get? The Thunder would have about 7 mil or so to play with if they sign KD. I think $18 mil for Horford so they would have to get rid of about 11 mil, I think that is right

If Waiters opts-in on his player option - the Thunder could trade Kanter and Waiters which should open up enough for $20+ mil per for Horford.

The floor rule creates interesting strategy. I sure would not want to be committed to anybody more than 1 year if I was just trying to get to the floor and that player was not part of the long term plans. I would rather pay a scrub big money for 1 season than overpay on a long term deal.

I know how the Celts can get there. 2 words:

Dwight Howard

Howard is the type of player the Celts need, the question is how much and for how long.

He's never been the same since that back injury.

I remember that thread you were talking about. Wiggy was indeed right, and I had no argument there. The market says that Noah will get that contract. But both you and I know he's not worth that contract.

Would be pretty interesting to see if the Thunder can clear enough cap space to get Horford. They pull that off, I can't see Durant leaving.

Sources: Thunder looking to land Horford, too

It's impossible, isn't it? They are $27M over the cap with Durant's cap hold. They would have to dump virtually everyone other than Westbrook and Oladipo (assuming they have to stay) to clear $50M in salary.
