Rumor has us looking at Arian Foster and Peire Thomas as some vet rbs we could bring in . My question is why ?

If we needed a guy we had one in our home grown 2x pro bowler with 3 , 1000 yrd seasons in Ammo

His contract is an incentive laiden 5.5 million dollar deal and we couldn't give that to a model citizen and productive player ? They must know jones , Thompson and Marshall are ok or we are fools looking at 2 ancient. Stop gappers

Tandler did a piece on this and was thinking it would cost some cash to bring a foster in and I am like , why ?

If I had to rate moves by SM this offseason this one would be high on my list of bad ones . So SM must know Jones has the goods as does Thompson and Mashall because signing a has been to take over doesn't seem to me as making a lot of sense

Rumor was Alf probably would have been cut before the season had McFadden not screwed his elbow up with his bogus and laughable explanation. The guy averaged 1 yard a carry. Without a gimmick offense Alf isn't a very good back. Our traditional style offense now isn't a friend to him. Stock was dropping each year since his first... is why he is not here. I'm pretty sure a RB who is not here now will be on our roster come game one. Jones hasn't proven anything except that he has a fumbling problem. Can we really count on him?

Expect a RB vet to be signed.

Foster could be expensive and probably on the downhill side of his career. I agree, the handling of Alf is one of the more questionable moves SM had made. As I have stated in previous posts, I am concerned about our RB situation. We do not have a proven starter. Jones, IMO, is still a big question mark. The rookie we drafted wasn't even second string on his college team. He has speed and thats about it. We probably will bring in a vet, but I think Pierre is more likely that Foster.

If Marshall doesn't work out I can see us brining back Pierre Thomas.

I hVe to disagree with some of you. IF Foster is willing to go with us on a reasonable, incentive based, short-medium term contract, then we should go after him. He has been riddled by injuries the last few years, but prior to that was one of the best in the league. No one we have on the roster is the all around RB that Foster is. Alt will never be what Foster has been. Morris was good, but there is really no comparison. If the terms are right, roll the dice on AF giving KC another weapon in the running and most importantly, the passing game.

Marshall certainly has a questionable injury history, much like Foster. But he fell to the back of the pack because of injuries and because he was behind Gurley (a Top 10 pick despite a knee I injury) and Chubb (probably a 1st rounder, once again despite a knee injury). Dude probably starts on 110-115 of the other D1 teams. Let's give him a chance.

Oh, Im not writing him off and honestly, I don't know much about him. But he was a 7th round pick and passed over completely by 31 other teams for a reason. His injury history could be at play (and probably is) but if I'm not mistaken, he was injury free his last year and still didn't get much time on his college team. I hope he proves everyone wrong, but i don't hold high expectations.
