Hopefully Sanchez' arm feels good tomorrow. I'd like to see him make 2 or 3 more decent starts before I feel evenly remotely secure in declaring him as healthy and the #3 starter.
going to both miami games... its going to be glorious. will post pics.I think Ausmus would agree with you. Even if pain-free, Sanchez won't have the stamina built up yet to start a game that opening week. I doubt he gets more than 5 innings in either of his remaining 2 spring starts. Fortunately, the Tigers only play 2 in Miami, then have an off-day Thursday. Works out well.
Upton and JD Martinez both had overall good WAR numbers but defense brought them down in this listing....although, looking at some of their other defensive numbers on fangraphs, JD and Upton seemed to appear near the middle of most lists. Only Gose seemed to get a lot of low rankings. IMO, it looks like whatever defensive shortcomings they may or may not have, their offense is capable of making up for it.
J.D. Martinez had very good defensive metrics last year and was a Gold Glove finalist in RF. His fielding pct. (.993) was 1st in the AL for RFs, UZR (7.7) was 2nd, and his 15 outfield assists were second among all AL outfielders. Perhaps Gose brought the unit down (he covers a lot of ground, but is otherwise no better than average), but JD-Mart should not have.
4 out of 5 dentist recommend Trident.....Nice stat, but it doesn't past my taste test.
Vice......you crack me up. I swear your shoes must be wet with piss 100% of the time. WD-40 gets the brown off, btw. LOL
50/50. Sanchez back....Norris hurt. Parnell hurt his chances at getting a bullpen spot today, so did Rondon. If Alex Wilson can't go, maybe a trade or waiver claim? Where IS Joba, by the way?
No dislikes and no answers back ... I think @MiamiVice is no longer taking the bait.
i will chime in when a decent tigers discussion starts.
Daniel Norris’ back injury puts new spin on Tigers rotationWhat the hell happened to Norris today?
i would rather they bring norris along slow and have his innings for later in the year than have them trying to pussy foot around innings limits anyways. 5th starters don't make or break seasons.I've assumed it was going to be Greene from the start anyway.
But hard for me agree with Ausmus. 3 runs in a third of an inning doesn't seem like an outing where "He was good" is a response.
I don't think his spot is the 5th one. Pelfry....i would rather they bring norris along slow and have his innings for later in the year than have them trying to pussy foot around innings limits anyways. 5th starters don't make or break seasons.
technically he probably was the 4th starter and pelfrey the 5th... or they wanted it as such.. but they were going to slot him in 5th so they could skip starts when a 5th starter wasn't needed.I don't think his spot is the 5th one. Pelfry....
But I agree on bringing him along slowly. They should shut him down for a couple weeks really. If he's not going to be coming north, which it seems likely he isn't, no need to push.
Either way.technically he probably was the 4th starter and pelfrey the 5th... or they wanted it as such.. but they were going to slot him in 5th so they could skip starts when a 5th starter wasn't needed.
