true... but the starts are disproportionate. The 4th and 5th starters not only normally end up matching up against other teams 4th or 5th starters who are not likely to be putting up zeros... but they do not get as many starts in a season as a #1 -#3 starter does due to skipped starts. All you really are looking for out of 4th and 5th starters is for innings so you don't tax the bullpen. Look at the Royals the last 2 years... they had a rotation filled with #3-#5 starters.Either way.
Tough to dismiss 40% of the starting rotation as not make or break.
