Giving any player huge money is a risk but, its part of the party that is being an NFL franchise. Von is one of those players you have to pay the price for.

Well the Broncos haven't put the franchise tag on him yet. They are going to continue to negotiate clear up until they have to tag him. So still hoping they can get something done. To me it is beneficial to both sides to get something done. Von it gives him the long-term deal he has been wanting and for the Broncos they get one of the best players in the league plus from what I understand he was a huge bonding player. The player would talk about going to club 58 if I remember right which was once a week any player on the team was invited to Von Miller's house to hang out. They talked a lot about how at those get together's is where they really formed the huge bond they had all season. Would hate to miss out on that for a few months just so we can save a couple extra million dollars.

Plus I would say the risk of injury increases the longer he is away from the team.

Looks like that long-term deal is not getting done before the FT deadline. The Broncos have officially put the Exclusive Franchise Tag on Miller.

The nice thing this time compared to DT's situation is the Broncos and Von's side want to keep talking. Last time DT's side shut things down until the very last possible minute. I don't see that being the case with Von. This was more just to be able to focus on Osweiler and Malik for the next 6 days and see what they can get done.
