2016 NFL Mock Draft: Updated Projections

BR has Robert Nkemdiche falling to us at #21. Key word here is falling because he's a unique talent. He might take a tumble on draft day due to his off-the-field problems, which I believe are his and his brother's use of synthetic marijuana. If he does drop to us, that would be quite a coup. I think he'd be playing at DE rather than DT/NT because he weighs less than 300 pounds. But if somehow he's still on the board when we pick, he'd not only be a draft steal but fill a huge need.

Talent wise yes. But considering the team is located in an area where we now have a grow and give policy.... I would be hesitant to draft/sign any one who has shown a proclivity for the halflings weed. The quickest way to having a man screw up is to place temptation within easy reach.

These projections will continue to progress and change until after the combine. Kid is a top 3 talent who made a horrible mistake. Question will be is it a one time mistake, or the gateway for it becoming habitual. IF he's there, and the back office puts an obvious plan in place, I would most definitely pull the trigger. Guess it also depends on what other talent is available, as I really can't see him falling to 21 and someone not trading up to grab him.

I guess what I'd say in response to Shark; these are NFL guys that will have the means and capability to get the stuff wherever they are. Doesn't matter if he's in DC, Hou, Den, or Sea, if he wants it, he'll get it.

I wouldnt exactly say Smoot stayed clean. I was still in DC during the Smoot Era, and lets just say while he didnt run afoul of the league rules, freddy also had a taste for things one might consider of questionable practice.

So as not to sound like IM hating, I will just say that Fred Smoot had a thing for exotic Beauty and I was rather shocked there was never any tapes involved.

You were right about it being a 2nd story window. I gotta say though, while I'm sure he's flashed some impressive skills/ability/etc at times. And he looks totally Tarzan without any hints of Jane. I was largely unimpressed by what I read about him tonight. The way he's being built up reminds me a little of how Leonard Williams was built up to seem more than he was.

Breed, if Nke didn't have the off field issues he would have been a top 5 pick. If he somehow drop to us at #21 its a no brainer pick.

Before his fall, he was likely a top-5 pick. He still might even get drafted, before our pick at 21. If he checks out with his pre-draft interviews and he still manages to fall to us, there is no way in the world Scot could pass on him. Scot takes chances on players. Keep in mind that he signed Junior Galette, despite his transgressions, last offseason. Nkemdiche is the best DL in this draft. Of course, for us, he'd play DE and fill Hatcher's spot, as I don't see him returning.

totally agree with that skinfanatl. But if Pot Roast leaves and Reed is there that could be tempting.
