I'll give you an answer you can relate to... think back to 2006 when Romo was named the starter. IF you have dealt with a revolving door of QBs for the past ten years, and all of a sudden one comes in who is simply supposed to be a place holder til you can find the next guy. Only he all of a sudden starts playing like he just might be able to be the guy..... Im sure you remember that time.
A team should never throw money at a player that performs well for just over half a season.

There's a risk, no doubt. We've seen this movie before. But it's a risk worth taking. I'd rather have our QB situation than the Eagles.

Shanahan has a history of grinding his players down. He ruined RGIII, and RGIII abetted that by trying to come back too soon.

RGIII was loved by Skins fans in his first season but you know how that turned out.

RGIII was loved, but any Redskins fan with a brain knew his style of play was not sustainable. That made him a wildcard, which then put him in a wait-and-see spot. Well, we waited and then saw.

Kirk is completely different. He may yet flop, but, if he does, he'll do so for much different reasons.

Who's talking about throwing money. The only question here is, do we get him AT or below market value for a starting QB?? You do realize Dallas originally Signed Romo to a $4 million dollar extention in 2006 and he had not made a SINGLE passing attempt in an in season game between 2003 and 2005 right??

RGIII was a much higher rated QB than Cousins in the draft.

Key words: "in the draft." We're beyond that now with both QBs. Otherwise, you can start extolling the praises of people like Christian Ponder and Brandon Weeden.

Jerry took a calculated gamble on Romo and it turned out to be a good decision.

He was also a higher rated QB than Russell Wilson. Just because most of the world got snookered, doesnt mean the falicy should continue.

And we are basically talking about taking a calculated risk. Higher stakes mind you, but we also have an actual live action sample size for Cousins.

How do you know that Cousins is the real deal?
