I would say not often a QB will throw 4 interceptions in a playoff game and still win. While Wilson is a huge contributor to this team you are right the defense is the main reason they have been winning the past few years. I mean their Super Bowl winning year they averaged giving up 13 points in the playoffs. That is dominating on the defensive side of the ball.

And that's great. Consistently though I have seen Wilson struggle to look over the middle and quickly abandon the pocket. I have seen him not exactly be the best at the whole timing routes. Again every QB though I could go down the list and show all the things they struggle with. Every QB has a weakness and to me Wilson's biggest weakness is that of timing routes and throwing over the middle from the pocket especially on the shorter throws. That doesn't mean he can't do them and have success with them sometimes but it is not his specialty. He has other things though that he does that no other QB in the league can do.

I mean, the guy literally has the highest completion percentage while having an average air yards per throw which is near the tops in the league. He has done it behind a well-below-average line and with a bunch of undrafted receivers.

When you have the line "it doesn't mean he is a bad QB by any means" when discussing a guy who is, at worst, the #4 QB in the NFL, you know you are being ridiculous.

Not even close to meaning he is inaccurate. It means he doesn't trust his eyes with those quick timing routes and will quickly abandon even a good pocket to then see if he can make a play outside the pocket. I've seen guys wide open down the middle and he just won't pull the trigger and will run outside. Now his elite athleticism allows him to still make plays in those situations.

Just because I say an elite QB has a weakness doesn't take away from their greatness. Rodgers holds on to the ball too long wanting to make too many big plays leading to too many big hits. Brady is inconsistent on the deep ball and can have ball placement problems a few games a year. Manning even when healthy struggled when the timing routes were thrown off or there was huge pressure up the middle. All those things don't take away from their greatness just shows no QB is perfect

I think the Cdumlier was accurate in saying that Wilson has had trouble with timing patterns and SOME over the middle passes, particularly crossing routes. Seam routes he has been consistently lethal at though.

But it should also be noted that this is his 4th season in the league. He's still developing and learning. And given that his OL has often been absolutely dreadful at pass pro, it isn't surprising that he has struggled with passes in the middle given that he often can't step into the pass.

IF you watch the last 3 games it is like night and day. The OL has actually been competent and Wilson is throwing darts all over the field. His pass on the go route to Lockett was a thing of beauty as has been his bullets on the seam routes to Kearse and Baldwin.

I realize his is on a hot streak and he will cool off but clearly when he is given time, he can make any throw and with accuracy.

I guess our definitions of passive aggressive are different. I view it as pointing to both sides of who a player is. I figure we can have adult conversations about both the good and the bad of a player without it just turning into some huge argument back and forth. Maybe I do get more focused on the negative of players but part of that is probably my favorite part of the year is the draft and trying to figure out a true evaluation of a player instead of just looking at the stats and what the "analyst" tell me about the player.
