 At all the sensitive bitches in this thread. Many of which I've seen complaining about how soft we've become with all our PC bullshit. This was an act of gamesmanship, but you want to call Cam a petulant child? :L

Well, he is. Maybe not because of this, though.

You still don't understand that in order for this guy to make his case he will have to show that Cam is not an employee of the Carolina Panthers.

You still don't understand that the team can remove it if it's in violation of the rules. You don't have a right to be there and under the restrictions put forth by the owner of the stadium.

You're a hipster dufus. There, is that better?

You did know that the team had pre-approved the fellow bringing the banner into the stadium -- right ? (according to local TV & media reports)

This will end up being a a win-win for everyone. That banner guy has gotten his 15 minutes of fame and will probably be compensated with $500 plus free tickets to a future game or games. Meanwhile, Cam's earned more love from his fans.

I read that the banner got destroyed. Even if it's against stadium policy (and there seems to be some question over that), does the stadium policy also say that the Panthers are allowed to destroy it? LOL.

I don't know anything about the man, other than his team is perfect on the season. Not here to judge him.

Agreed. The Panthers will get the fan all sorts of random swag/perks and it will just go away.

Apparently some people seem to think so. Property rights apparently don't matter in this situation.

He cheated at Florida, went to jail, and served 180 hours of community service.

Apparently, Bank of America Stadium is a Communist state headed by Com Newton during Panther games.

Yeah, the guy probably has a legit legal claim (albeit a small legal claim) against Cam and the Panthers, so the Panthers will do what they have to do to settle this out of court instead of letting it be a further distraction. I'm sure they wouldn't be happy if Cam had to take time to appear in court.

No he won't. What a silly claim.

Did Cam follow policy? Did he notify the person that he was confiscating it due to it violating policy? Did he return the item?

I do understand that. You DO have a right to be there as you paid money to get a ticket to be there. You must comply with their policies or their appointed staff can ask you to comply or leave the premises. Security policy would have no more right to confiscate and keep the banner than Cam Newton did.

Some people need to use insults in an attempt to shield their intellectual laziness.

Cam is an employee of the Panthers, and though he is not normally the one to enforce the rules, the Panthers would simply need to back his doing so. Which they have done thus far.

You do not have a RIGHT to be there. You're ticket can be revoked for numerous reasons. (Try reading the back of one.) Security has every right to confiscate signs and do so at stadiums on a regular basis.

And finally it wasn't an inuslt, it was a descriptive. Hipster dufus types like to be contrarian to shield their intellectual laziness.

He has no claim. It was a violation of stadium policy to hang it, and upon entering the stadium he achknowledges acceptance of stadium policy and rules.

My local reports have said no such thing. I live in Fayetteville, the same city the guy is from.

He had permission to hold it up, not hang it. Hanging it is against stadium policy. Which is why the stadium will compensate him for it, sounds like they are having a replica made, but that is all he will get.

He has no claims because he violated stadium policy/rules, he should be happy getting a new banner, since they dont' even owe him that much.

That kinda makes you a bit jaded...no?
I don't think so. I just can't stand his antics after a 1st down or scoring. He's a quality QB that acts like a 12 year old. I like his game, wish he'd grow up.

NFL needs to keep Goodell away from this one, he might want to suspend Cam for a few games and takes draft picks away from the Panthers.

I think you are assuming too much by saying that stadium policy trumps everything. If this went to court, a judge would decide the validity of the stadium policy, and even if the judge found it valid, the judge would then look at whether the stadium policy was followed properly and whether any contractual rights or property rights were violated.

If the Panthers don't settle this now, it will wind up in court because let's face it, pretty much anyone can file a lawsuit over anything, unless a person has previously been declared a vexatious litigant. The most likely outcome is that whomever is legal counsel for the Panthers will tell them that this whole thing is not worth it and to just pay the guy $500 and give him free tickets. Why would the Panthers' lawyer want to waste time and money doing legal research and preparing legal pleadings to defend a lawsuit? On top of that, why would the Panthers let this drag out and possibly subject Cam to going to court?

No. It doesn't work that way.

You do not have a RIGHT to be there. You're ticket can be revoked for numerous reasons. (Try reading the back of one.) Security has every right to confiscate signs and do so at stadiums on a regular basis.

Again you are simply wrong. You DO have a right. That right can be rescinded if you violate the T&Cs of the ticket. Security has a right to confiscate signs if the owner doesn't take it down. They don't have a right to keep it.

And finally it wasn't an inuslt, it was a descriptive. Hipster dufus types like to be contrarian to shield their intellectual laziness.

One more time. I started this thread. You came into this thread with a contrarian argument against what I said. So for you to call me a contrarian is simply hypocritical.

Maybe you can do a better job than most, but I equate this to picking a jury...do you have any predisposed thoughts or feelings that might prevent you from having an objective viewpoint?

As far as Cam and his antics...I get it...I prefer more of a Barry Sanders approach to making a big play, but I understand times change...when you are on the edge not everyone is going to like it...some people hated McEnroe simply because he acted like an ass on the court sometimes.

You think Cam's antics are childish...and I'm not going to agree or disagree...it's a fair opinion.

His antics are different, but is it really any different than when Brady makes a big spike after a TD?
