If you look at my analysis, Fred taylor is actually better than Campbell.. What I didn't like about nos' running backs is that he had two power backs, no change of pace. And neither were very scary at receiving...
Milk! LMAO, don't say Fred Taylor was better than Earl Campbell. Holy Crap man lol

This is why there is no different voting system that will work better than our current system. When someone can say, in all seriousness, that Fred Taylor was better than Earl Campbell

Try watching a game Bro

I do, but I don't pretend to know everything that is going on... watching games you see so little of what is happening, and what is happening is so based on what everyone is doing correct not just that one skill player...

And I did not say that I think taylor is better, I said using my analysis Taylor is better... With any analysis, you are supposed to put in some opinion afterward...

My opinion is your analysis on this matter is bullshit.

Saying Campbell is better than Taylor isn't being a know it all, Forrest Gump could figure that out. And you keep saying "a game we see so little of".. are you kidding Bro? Every game, every play is broken down in reverse angles, super slow Mo, however you want it.
It also cracks me up that you can rip specific moves that everyone else makes, but when you say something utterly ridiculous about your own matchup, you get bent when you are called on it. If we are in an NBA matchup, and I say something like, "because of this obscure stat I found, Monta Ellis is better than Michael Jordan... and it's not close"....when someone laughs at me, they aren't being a know it all

The reason stats say Taylor was better is because Earl only really played 5 seasons. You must have seen some highlites somewhere of Earl, the guy was simply amazing better than Marcus or Priest or Freddy. His knees said bye bye and that was it.

Oh and using AV is like using shoe size EX... Marcus Allens rookie year he has an AV of 18 thats better than any season Earl ever had for AV and that year Allen had 1098 total yards and 14 TD's. In 1979 Earl Campbell had 1791 total yards and 19 TD's his AV that year was 15

IMO Marcus Allen is one of the most overrated backs of all time, he vultured TD's that is all, he had 1 great rushing season in a 16 year career.

Milk, I actually respect the Hell out of your sports knowledge. I just don't get how you can let a statsheet trump what you see on the field.

QB A throws for 150 yards and 1 TD. He hands the ball off the entire 2nd half, because his team is up 25(Russell Wilson)

QB B starts the game with a pick 6, takes 3 sacks, and gets down 25. In the 2nd half, the defense gets in a prevent, gives him open check downs that they can tackle in bounds to run the clock. He passes for 350 yards and 3 TD's, and loses by 10.(Jay Cutler)

Both guys have similar games all season long
QB A goes 13-3, wins a Super Bowl
QB B goes 6-10, misses playoffs(but has 2000 more yards)

Your AV stat might say QB B is better..I still say watch the game:suds:

Seriously stop using AV its a made up number that makes no sense, look at the example I just gave!

Again, I don't know if I like AV, but the way I used it I liked... I took the total AV(measures longevity), took the AV per game(measures consistency), took the best season(shows maximum potential), took # of elite seasons(shows length of greatness)...

Whether AV is good or not, it was good enough to use for what I was doing... I never said THis player is better because his AV is better... Just used it to show what I think is important in a players career(the 4 categories I just mentioned)...

If you want me to use real stats, Earl Campbell never hit the 2000 plateau, hit 19 TDs once in career and after that never passed 13, Allen had 4 seasons of over 13 TDs, reached that 2000 plateau and still had a 1900+ yard season...

and the 18 AV was in only 9 games he had over 1000 scrimmage yards and 14 TDs...

It is easy to say Allen's top 3 seasons were better than Campbell's... But again, when I said my running game was better I was including priest holmes too... Holmes had 3 seasons better than Campbell ever did...

Was I supposed to say Priest holmes was my number one back?? didn't think it mattered, I wanted the Pounder in allen and the elusiveness with Holmes...

I stand at that my running game was much better than yours, and I like Fred taylor

What bothers me, is you didn't even try to see how I used AV... I never just said this player has a higher AV so he is better...

I'm sorry, You're right, I should have looked at the context, but you had listed RB as not close in your favor, and I see it as not close the other way.

Marcus Allen is overrated, the end! Nothin else you said matters to me AV is a worthless way to look at a player, you might as well use who has eaten more apples in their lives to determine their worth.

And Campbell is NOT??? In no way can you say Campbell's best 3 seasons were better than Allen's and Allen also had longevity...

Yes I can say Campbells 3 best seasons were better and its honestly not close, Allen caught more balls out of the backfield but I would bet my life if you asked a 100 GMS who they would rather build their team around 99 would say Campbell.

Allen did have longevity, he hung around as an average running back longer than most, congrats.

See, this is what gets me... All the stats in the world say ALlen's top 3 seasons were better... But because you SAW Campbell, and allen Play, you have a bias because Campbell impressed you...

Milk, just please answer me one thing out of curiosity. Did you actually see Allen and Campbell play in their primes?
