We are heading in the right direction kids...

I like John Fox. It's funny, i saw John Fox in an interview on 60 minutes years ago. This guy is constantly working and i remember thinking how great it would be to have a fanatic coach like this for the Bears and now here we are. Yes I like him a lot (though i had no idea what he or his OC guy was doing giving up free yards at the end of the first half Sunday)

Lets face it. We are lacking talent in a lot of areas. But the guys are playing hard and at least are competitive despite what the score says.

After year after year of me screaming to draft DL while the idiots kept begging for WRs, we have finally arrived at the position i feared we would arrive, if we didn't draft DL. This defense has no pass rush, has no muscle in the trenches and therefore will continue to suck until this is addressed. And believe me, it's going to be very difficult to address this problem especially having missed golden opportunities in back to back years, missing out on a top DL talent by ONE friggin pick. Now, because I don't run the team, we will likely delay drafting a DL talent and look to QB, which imo would be another mistake. We are going to see how football savvy Ryan Pace is in the upcoming drafts. Does he really get it? Or is he like all the idiot Bear fans in here and want to continue to draft WR and other nonsense peripheral positions that don't mean squat w/out muscle in the trenches?

I said this before and I'll echo it here again. Will Sutton and Ego Ferguson are nothing special. So our need for DL goes even deeper than it appears.

What a colossal mistake Lamarr Houston has been. I really hate this guy.

Ryan Pace has done a good job dumping Bostic and Allen. We need to load up on draft picks and Ryan needs to get to work and find some gems.

One last comment. We must trade Matt Forte and get a good return. There is absolutely no point in holding onto this guy at all. Do your job Pace.

while I completely agree with you about Forte, I think the DL may be the Bears best position group until the WRs come back. The DL is clearly getting better fast, an it is still mostly very young. We need a secondary, we still need a LT and RG (sorry, so far Ducasse is not winning me over), and it still would not kill us to have a better rush linebacker to complement McPhee. If Goldman, Ferguson, and Sutton continue to grow, that's a decent line nucleus.

I forgot to talk about Jimmy Clausen. Holy moly is he bad. The guy has absolutely no clue how to handle pressure. He doesn't know how to slide, step up, or move alittle to avoid pressure. His only answer to pressure is to throw the ball away or get sacked. What a worthless backup QB. Get rid of this clown!

LMAO. Are you saying the DL is good???? See what i mean? Idiots, don't know what they are seeing. It's shocking to me how someone can watch a football game and see something that's not there. What are you watching? You don't understand football.

"If Goldman, Ferguson, and Sutton continue to grow" LOL. You can say that about any position. Here let me start: If Clausen can continue to grow into Dan Marino we wouldn't have a QB problem. They won't grow. They suck. That's the problem. I admit, i haven't seen Goldman play much but the other two i've mentioned since last year, SUCKS. Book it! Quote me on it in two years and again i'll be right.

Just curious, on which specific plays should Clausen have targeted which specific receiver from yesteday. Be specific with your examples. You're a genius, this should be easy.

Well, they did get 4 sacks and 6 hits yesterday, and more or less had penetration on every pass play. You are a genius, I'm sure you explain how that = the D line sucking.

He should be kept as you need someone for the fans. He might be getting up there in age but the guy never takes hits and could play for 3 to 5 more years.

I think it's a little unfair to judge your DLine and their development in that game. It's no secret Seattle is having major issues on their Oline right now. Remember you didn't come close to getting Rodgers week one and couldn't get a fingernail on Palmer and he's a damn statue in the pocket. I would wait for a larger sample size before making judgements

That's a fair point, but at least they didn't fail to succeed against an opponent they *should* have beaten in the Seattle O Line. That right there is better than last 2 years.

Oakland this week will be a more reliable test.

In the entire history of the NFL, there has never been a RB that escaped the "all RBs decline seriously by the time they turn 32" rule. Not even one. Maybe Matt Forte will be the first ever. But odds are that he won't, and he turns 31 middle of the next season.

He is worth a lot right now to an actual contender. He is more or less a waste on our team. For his sake, and for the Bears sake, the best thing that could happen is an injury to a star RB on a contender before the trade deadline.

I get both sides of the argument Cali. But the part of MF not taking hits will prolong his time in the league. If we do trade him I want to see him behind that Dallas Oline. But I want him to retire a Bear. You can't always do the smart thing sometimes you have to have a heart.

I'm glad they dumped Bostic and Allen, and I think they need to part ways with Forte and Bennett. This is rebuilding 101.

The problem is however: The Bears have not been very good with draft picks. Sure they get a gem every now and then, but TT in GB has demonstrated just how poorly the Bears have done.

Let's just hope Fox and company can do their jobs.

I'm not apposed to moving some older key players that are not going to be around when the team is good in a few years. Forte is one of them... But it would be really hard to watch him play elsewhere. (though I think we could survive with RB's on team)

The flip side of trading away some of these guys is counting on new inexperienced players to excel by themselves. This comes back the question... can a rookie WR develop when a rookie QB is trying to develop too? Can a Rookie DB develop when the DL isn't good...etc.

I go back to David Carr... I liked him, thought he had some talent to excel, but as an expansion team he played behind a weak OLine that couldn't give him time to develop and progress. Would he be different if he was drafted by a different team?
This is my caution of complete rebuild mode.

And multiple 6th round picks can be trade up to get 4th rounders... or flip that and do what Carolina and NE just did and trade for a LB/DL that is sitting on a 4-3 team.

I would hate to see Forte playing for another team too. Yeah, a rookie developing is always a risk whether he can pan out, but I think that's where they are at right now.
