Looking at this game I honestly have no clue what will happen. There are places we have a huge advantage and others that they do...

Broncos OL vs. Chiefs Front-7--Huge advantage Chiefs at this point. They are susceptible to the run and honestly if we stand any chance of winning this game it will be because of our run game. Pass rush wise we probably don't play another front-7 as good as this unit all year long. Baltimore was the only one that I saw that really compares.

Broncos QB/RB/WR/TE vs. Chiefs Secondary--I'll call this one a push honestly. I don't know what Manning is going to do. If he is like his old self then I think we have a great advantage. He plays like he did on Sunday and they have a great advantage.

Chiefs OL vs. Broncos Front-7--This is where our greatest advantage is. Baltimore was supposed to have one of the top-3 OL's in football and the Broncos abused them. I think we see that again this week. Plus we actually have a great run stopping defense. Can't let Charles get to the edge and will have to watch for the screen game.

Chiefs QB/RB/WR/TE vs. Broncos Secondary--I give this one to the Broncos. Maclin is decent but our corners are better. Really the only guy I worry about is that of Kelce. Last week though the Broncos safeties allowed 1 catch for 15 yards while knocking down 3 passes and having an interception. I think they will be ready for this test.

Special Teams--This to me is where the Chiefs have the biggest advantage. McManus better be booting them out of the end zone as our return units are still shaky. Colquitt better not out punt his coverage as again our coverage units are still figuring things out.

Coaching--Chiefs--Reid has proven more than that of Kubiak. I think Kubiak stands a good chance though to show that his 2nd time around as HC he has learned a lot. I would also say Wade Phillips could show to be the best Coordinator in the NFL right now.

Great post there.

Secondary of KC will be interesting this year. Might be a bit up and down but could be really good going forward.

Berry coming back after nearly a year off I am sure is gonna have some rust early on, but rust to Eric Berry is better then 90% of other DB's so I am not going to downplay what he can do.

Marcus Peters being a rookie is gonna have that rookie experience factor but gotta be careful with him as well. He is gonna make some mistakes, but I don't think you can count on beating the drum on him over and over like most vet QB's like to do with rookie CB's.

Yeah that Chiefs secondary definitely is a group with some very high potential. I"m hoping with it being early in the season that maybe Manning can take advantage of some miscues by the group. When they get Sean Smith back though this unit could really be pretty scary. It is why I still think if we are to win this game then the run game HAS to be huge in this one for us. That is the one spot where they are vulnerable as a defense. Having Derrick Johnson back has helped them some in that area but I still think we can find some holes to really keep them guessing of what is coming.

Yeah as much as I am whining about having to play KC on the road in a Thursday night game I want to make a few points.

A. I would rather their secondary now oppose to later. Although that doesn't take away the fact that we have to run the ball to win this game.

B. Thank god we don't play them in KC late in the year.

C. Thank god we finally play them in KC before they play us in Denver. That isn't often.

As much as it stinks having this game on a Thursday like this I honestly love our schedule so much more than what we had last year. I was surprised how well we handled last year's schedule having the early bye week, 3 road games in a row, 6 of the final 9 games being on the road, and having what was the Sunday night game to then have to turn around and play the Thursday night game.

This at least gets our Thursday night game out of the way and we have a lot of our road contests early giving us a good chance to really finish strong this year at home.

Agree- Last year was brutal looking at our schedule. Almost let the air out of me when it was released but we made our way through it ok.

This year felt less pressure and better schedule.

It is kind of nice to have the media a little more down on our team this year. Last year every little thing the team did wrong was scrutinized and every game we lost the doom and gloom media and trolls just ran with it. This year it just feels like the team can relax fly under the radar for a bit and build up to where by December they are a well oiled machine and people are going "Where was this team in September?" Or "How did we miss the talent especially on this defense?"

Agree- I know all the super fans want the media to be in love with your team but I actually like it when people don't predict us to win the SB. A prediction means nothing but pressure.

Just a quick difference between Fox and Kubiak...When we were preparing for the Super Bowl in 2013 the team did not practice with crowd noise as they did not expect to have that much. After the game where the Crowd noise really affected the team Fox said the team just didn't prepare for it to be like that.

Kubiak this week said they are practicing with the sound as loud as possible to the point that the players actually cannot hear each other. This is how they expect it to be on Thursday so that is how they want to practice.

Final injury report came out today. Anunike is out for this one. Omar Bolden is listed as doubtful.

Anderson, Stewart, and Jackson are listed as questionable. So far all 3 of these guys have said they are playing though.

This was maybe one of my favorite articles of this past week. They broke down how most teams are looking to find one great pass rushing threat where the Broncos right now have 6! I argued this earlier with a Chiefs writer who said that they should just work to push Miller and Ware to the outside then go one-on-one with guys on the inside. I said that the Broncos have a couple of guys on the inside that will cause problems if left one-on-one. The Chiefs writer said he couldn't see it that the Broncos had an inside force.

Breaking Down the Denver Broncos' Six Top Pass Rushers | The MMQB with Peter King

That is the article but maybe my favorite part is the discussion about Shaq Barrett. Shaq was given 4 snaps where he rushed the passer in week 1. On those snaps he had a pressure where he was waiting on the bootleg play by Flacco forcing him to throw early. He beat Wagner on another play with an inside move to cause a hurry. Then then bull rushed Wagner back into the QB. Finally he beat Wagner around the edge again registering a hurry but the play was negated by a penalty. So every snap he was using a different move but all of them resulted in him applying pressure. I'm hoping they give him a few more snaps this week with it being a short week and the need to conserve both Ware and Miller for later in the season.

I see a nice mixture actually. The weakest part of the Chiefs defense is the run defense. What better way then to especially wear out that defense than for us to just keep punching it up the middle picking up first downs. This not only wears them out but then makes it much more difficult to pass rush. It also gets us a lot easier 3rd down plays than what we had this past week where our average was 8.9 yards to go on 3rd down.

Ummm I hope Kubiak is playing for a win this week. You get 16 NFL games. It is a division game. It's week 2. I agree he will be playing for a win. lol

last week he was trying things ...IMO this week he will do things that he know we can pull off ..not things he hopes we can pull off .... Manning gets to be Manning this week no governor..

I came to the conclusion after the Raven's contest that the Broncos sandbagged on using the TE and the FB - my thought is we will see plays to Green and Daniels - Casey will also get his chances.

I think we will see the shotgun quite a bit, but 50% of the plays will come under center to set up the play action and Marcus Peters will be the play action victim - Peters is full of beans after his 1st game pick and will try to jump some routes.

I'm eager to see Berry play period.

Last week the game plan had CJ Anderson - on the swing pass - this week - I think you will see the Broncos try to establish Hillman in the passing game out of the backfield.

The Broncos need to run a ton plays running up the gut - to "squeeze the soul" out of the defense as Vasquez put it - in the 4th quarter.

The Chiefs have the bronco beater in Jamal Charles running draws and screens
If Charles goes off it will be a long day for Denver
Keep him in check
Could be a battle of capt checkdowns
