A black Bond would definitely require an attitude adjustment on my part but possible if the actor is good enough but he's definitely gotta be British...
Why would it require an attitude adjustment ON YOUR PART?

If the character were played like a swashbuckler in British high-society, what does it matter the color of his skin? If the character is changed to a Samual L. cookie-cutter character, than OK. But that would not be Bond, and would certainly not be Elba's take on the character.

I REALLY think that Elba gets a lot of talk about Bond because he is the right type of actor. Not because he is the right type of BLACK actor. I am rather conservative, and don't like all this PC BS that bleeds into just about every movie. But I came to thinking Elba would be a good Bond completely indipendantly, before all the talk started getting a lot of play. This is because he is an imposing, strong British actor who controls the screen in a high-brow, educated manner. Even in The Wire, where he played a bad-assed gangsta, he played him as an educated, proper gangsta.

By contrast, Denzell would NOT make a good Bond. He plays his characters too casual, with a playful laugh being one of his main character quirks. He does not play "distinguished" very well.

Place me in the WGAF group.

I've dumped Bond as something I make a point of watching.

But I'd vote for Hardy if I cared.

I don't get the uproar over Elba. He's been great in everything I've seen him in and seems to fit the role. This wouldn't be a Fantastic Four situation where they're just trying to spice things up with dumb casting to appeal to a younger audience. Elba would probably do a great job.

Yeah Elba wouldn't be cast to try out Bond as black.

He'd be casted because outside of his skin color he fits the role PERFECT and is a great actor that people like.

Daniel Craig has been exceptional as a tough and rugged Bond, but recently there's been some chatter about Spectre being his last. Spectre will be his 4th Bond so whether or not the rumor is true, I don't envision Craig taking on the Bond character for too long after Spectre.

Who do you guys think should take on the Bond character after Daniel Craig?

Some candidates that come to mind are...

Henry Cavill and Idris Elba

The UK is ground zero for white liberal guilt. They blow SF out of the water in this category to put it in perspective, especially with the propaganda that's spouted daily by the govt sponsored media monopoly BBC and their open borders immigration policies. MSNBC watchers look like the GOP compared to the UK left.

They've been bitching for years that the next Bond has to be black. Combine that with the entertainment industry artisan moonbats and get ready for a black bond no matter how forced its presented to the masses.

I can't wait until the next Casper the friendly ghost is played by a black guy. Eddie Murphy?

And I like Idris Elba as an actor, don't get me wrong. I just don't get him as a Bond. Plus he's no spring chicken either. They should go with someone younger who can last 4 or more movies without looking like a grand father.

Cavil? Why?

Elba and Fassbender are the popular picks and Jackman has been lobbying for the gig. Would Brits be able to accept an Aussie Bond?
How about this guy?

I agree, it should be Shia LaBeouf.

Me too. He has the "total bastard" attitude with polish that made Sean Connery the best Bond (Craig was easily #2)

I "think" he could handle the physical part too. Wasn't he in 300?

yeah, 300 was one of his "breakout" roles

I wouldn't want a black dude to be Bond.

If he's a good actor and plays the character right it should be ok but not without "stress", that's all.

I was just being honest. I saw the 1st Bond films in the movies when I was kid. What was that? 50 years ago!?! A few preconceptions and expectations have seeped in during that time.

I had a hard enough time dealing with Roger Moore as the new Bond.

If Ronda Rousey can play Dalton in the remake of Road House, then she will probably be James Bond next.
