Maybe more than a good rental. They may just sign him again. Which is why hometown guys like Gallardo you want to try to keep if possible

Key to baseball life it seems.

B/c, if possible, all depends on what the FO has determined to be their profit margin/future plans on contracts, etc.

I just turned on to see Beltre fly out. So I looked at the internet to see what all happened. Did the hottest hitter in the league in Odor decide on his own to sacrifice or did Banister have him do it or do we not know?

As hot as he has been either way, he should not be bunting this early in the game.

No one has owned up to it on twitter. In a likely high scoring game, pitiful strategy

That was a real good move. He has been solid this year.

I liked the move, primarily due to the fact Houston has been such a train wreck for a decade plus, this gives the team/organization as a whole/city, a shot in the arm. Although I don't think this gets them to a WS by any means.

But the Astros are saying to the AL, we're for real from now on, and we aren't afraid to make a bold move. It's a nice statement for an organization sorely in need of doing so.

Or very poor decision making by a 20 year kid who shouldn't be on his own to make this decision if this is indeed what happened.

I would much rather see them win the AL West than anyone else if it is not us. But if they are in the playoffs they have the starting pitching to be real scary. Not sure if you know this or not but Keuchel and Kazmir and 1-2 in ERA for LHers.

And should be hearing about it if he did.

I don't think they're done making moves either.

Honestly, no I didn't. But I still don't see their team as a challenger for all the marbles.

Of course, if you make it to the post season, all dibs are off. Strange things have happened before.

Also, I'm with ya as far as them winning the West. Why-the-hell-not, eh?

Good "potential" point. And this may be the boldest move yet.
