I'm a pretty big fan of college football in general, and love ending my college football Saturdays with a late night PAC game or two, and I've never noticed them being on. I wasn't trying to jab at the Big 12 with that "meaningless" comment, I just meant that the teams playing were usually the conference bottom feeders (because the better teams are usually on ESPN or whatever else). I could be mistaken, but I don't think I get nearly as many PAC games on that channel as you do. Could it be because you have FS SouthWEST so they figure you're more interested in what is going on out west?

doesn't the pac usually have a late game on Fox sports southwest/Midwest?

Texas will never allow it.

I know you've been told different, but Texas doesn't control anybody. If anything Baylor and tech control us, since we can't leave without them.

Not only that, but Rutgers brings the NYC market, which is far more than Kansas can offer.

No, it doesn't.

People have been saying this for years, and it's simply not factual. New Yorkers don't care about Rutgers unless they are a graduate. There are more Tar Heels, Buckeyes, Nittany Lions, Blue Devils, and Wolverines in NYC than there are Scarlet Knights.

hahahahaha you've never been to new York. Rutgers is in New Jersey, and NYC couldn't care less about college football. Only college sport NYC follows is Big East basketball.
Yet we're gonna go to KC and get all those folks that are foaming at the mouth for some Jayhawk football. :stephena:

Like I said, I don't believe so, at least not on a consistent basis. It is possible that I just never noticed before, although I do look for as many games to watch as I can find so I don't think that is likely. If someone else who has FS Midwest wants to jump in here and tell me I'm wrong, that's fine. I'm just trying (and failing) to remember PAC games on that channel.

Yes! Now get us all some Mint Juleps, or we'll bolt for the SEC.

You would probably attract more viewers for KU basketball in Kansas City than Rutgers football in NYC. That's a moot point though, because it has to do with TV sets not actually who is watching it.

Oaknights spells it out perfectly. It isn't about fans, it's about TVs being on.

To counter your point though, KC would be included in the footprint with Kansas, which would be a good add for the Big Ten. Same as Rutgers (in New Jersey) getting the NYC market.

edit: Not size wise, obviously, but the KC market is nothing to turn noses up at.

Did OKLAHOMA suddenly get some boost in its academics I missed.

Those Big 10 dudes are very snobby about AAU membership in order to be able to play football for some reason.

Heck, they are still trying to deal with the shame and embarassment of Nebraska being booted from the AAU immediately upon joining the Big 10.

I think the Big 10 would rather take Princeton University Football over Florida State Football.....

This is based on politics that happened in the early 90s. Nobody knows how it would go down today. Ann Richards isnt stepping up anytime soon

Kansas basketball is a national brand. It's not just about KC and Wichita tv sets. The big 10 didn't pick up Nebraska for population.

Match up Kansas with some traditional Big 10 basketball powers from Jan, Feb, March and there's your answer.

Oaknights spells it out perfectly. It isn't about fans, it's about TVs being on.

But the Big Ten ALREADY had all those sets in the NYC market, because of all those alumni I mentioned who live here. This is also true of the SEC and ACC, not sure about the PAC or Xii.

Rutgers did not deliver any TV market to the league that wasn't already established.

I always get a late PAC game on Saturday nights on FOX.
Sometimes a good matchup but mostly not.
