Unbelievable how bad this team is right now.

This was a real ball-buster tonight.

Wasted a fantastic effort from Colby, and Prince looks like he's breaking out.

Actually, overall, we hit the ball hard tonight. Lots of shots right at people.

Just hope bannister doesn't take prince out early anymore.

Garbage. Instead of turning the page on April we pull this. They were having fun early on. After this we will see the team we've seen most of the year. Garbage.

My main gripe with Bannister this year has been how long he has pitchers out there that don't have it. Scheppers a couple times and Tolleson tonight come to mind.

That was actually a good move by bannister. Not his fault all but one of his pitchers shit their pants.

This really bad streak we've been on started the other time this year when we blew a 5 run 8th inning lead.

He left tolley out there one batter too long, but then Mendez came in and shit the bed. This one isn't on Banny.

I wasn't blaming it on Bannister. That's just my gripe with him. There's a reason our bullpen has inherited the most runners.

I was excited as I snapped a picture of Fielder and Beltre and on this pitch Fielder hit a HR. But all for nothing.

What a waste for Colby and Claudio. It really hurts that we have no other LHers. My son and I thought maybe Claudio should pitch another inning as he threw just 9 pitches and the A's have so many LH bats. But this was all on Tolleson (whose walk to Semien was inexcusable), Mendez who always has control issues and then Feliz. I can tell you from where I was sitting that when the hit happened and put the A's ahead 6-5 you could just see the air come out of the position players on the field. It was like they had been kicked in the gut.

Am sure there might be other disappointments ... but i rank this one up just behind Game 6

The wind is really outta my sail, even after a nights sleep.

But I sure don't feel anything even remotely close as I did after the WS.

Probably so. But wasn't the walk to Muncy - hitting all of .143 - by Mendez the one which killed us. Then he had to face Riddick - red hot and hitting over .350 - and he promptly put us on our heels (5-4) and the rest was history.

Tolleson had a horrid night, no doubt about it. But you're going to have this happen sometimes. And I do think Banny left him out there WAY too long. If he'd yanked him after it was obvious to everyone but Banister, he wasn't on top (even in the middle) of his game, maybe we could have regrouped.

But I came away with two very bad impressions from the game. (1) Mendez has to learn how to pitch with pressure, throw strikes or else he's gotta be sent down. (2) Feliz is no long a MLB pitcher. And this has all kinds of repercussions for us, both short and long term.

I knew Mendez problem is not his stuff but his ability to control it much like Scheppers. So that did not surprise me. But with I believe to be sitting there with at the time a lead that was now 5-1 I was thinking you cannot walk this guy. You have to make him earn it. I understand what you are saying but sitting there at the game that just gave me a bad feeling. It was like here we go again. And we need to quit bringing Feliz in the 8th inning. It has not turned out well yet. These guys cave under pressure. We have blown now two 5 run leads late in a game.

And I agree with you that I never thought about blaming Banister for this. My only thought was letting Claudio pitch another inning since he had only thrown 9 pitches. We needed one more lefty in this situation. These guys just have to come thru. This BP just stinks for the most part.

Field and Lucas are tearing it up at AAA. I liked these guys in ST myself. They seemed to be part of a number of good offensive innings.
