To counter the new negativity, here's what I posted a few minutes ago to DT.

DT.........RBI production was certainly a concern but could never guessed it would be this bad.

So far this has been a nightmare.

But having said this, baseball is a game of streaks. And honestly, right now, when we hit a ball hard, it finds a glove. Or when we get a hit, it's with 2 outs. However, I don't think this team is going to scare anyone.

But at the same time, I see Prince being slightly off or some of his balls are landing in seats, EA is hitting it hard/finding gloves, Beltre is starting to hit the ball-on-the-nose too. Martin seems to be showing some growth at the plate. MM was doing what he does best, that is-when he's doing his best, and that's using all fields, and hopefully he'll be back in 15 days.

So I do see some light in these dark nights.

Once we lost Yu and Holland, I had no misconceptions about this being a .500 team, but the pitching had actually been good. I still am not so misguided as to think this team will wind up - .500 team, but it would be nice to at least see some good baseball. I'm hoping this improves going forward, because it would be a feat for it to get much worse.

The thing is loss of Yu and Holland didn't affect the offensive output except on those nights in NL cities where Yu and Holland could be expected to rake it. There have been some bad pitching outings in the 20 games played so far but all in all the pitching has not lost games. Problem is the offense that was set to be here hasn't won games.

Agree. For the most part, pitching has given us the chance to win more games than recorded thus far.

Well, I will be at the game tomorrow night as my oldest son got me and him tickets. But I cannot say I am excited since Kazmir is pitching against us and that combined with our incredible offense means in person futility. Now you may see me as I will be 2 sections to the left of home plate and 2 rows from the field when looking in from the pitchers mound. Section 28 row 2.

Maybe instead of gloves fans bring to the game they bring bats ... and like Aggie fans we stand through the first inning of every game and stand ready to come into the game to pinch hit.

Just an idea on an offnight.

Nothing Aggie is ever a good idea.

Mr. Tendler had three more hits for Hickory tonight and only lacked a HR for the cycle. He now sports a 1.083 OPS. Not a bad April.

This is an EG piece from early today ... Rangers struggling to grasp approach banister wants team to have at plate

Grant: Rangers struggling to grasp approach Banister wants team to have at plate | Dallas Morning News

“It’s not about taking pitches,” Banister said. “It’s about finding pitches to hit. I want to clear that up right now.”
Hmm. Looks like to me that they don't have a plan and are guessing.

Seems to be what they've been doing for almost 2 years

Tripp Martin (3B) also had 3 more hits in that game.

Has anyone mentioned that Telis is batting .329 for RR? I wish he had more power, but last time I checked our catchers hit like shit.

Hmm. Looks like to me that they don't have a plan and are guessing.

They have worked to 2-0 counts 101 times, a hair under the AL average of 110. They have worked to 3-1 counts, however, 78 times, well above the league average of 68. In both situations, though, the Rangers seem to see the counts as times for automatic swings. They have swung at 2-0 pitches 42 times and have just seven hits (five singles and two doubles) to show for those swings.

This is exactly the problem right here, and I have been saying it all season. It's like once they get a certain count they have an automatic approach of swing or take. Nobody is looking for a certain pitch in a certain location. They get to a 2-0 or 3-1 count, and say, "I must be getting SOMETHING to hit so I guess I'll swing." At the end of the day, it's really no plan at all.
