Cowboys tender RB Lance Dunbar but not CB Sterling Moore
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
The Cowboys placed a one-year, $1.542 million tender on restricted free agent running back Lance Dunbar but did not tender corner Sterling Moore, making Moore an unrestricted free agent Tuesday, reports the Dallas Morning News.

Dunbar caught 18 passes for 217 yards while running 29 times for 99 yards last season.

Corner back has to be a priority in draft. Moore was decent but was awful in green bay. I do like patmon but he is unproven. Carr way overpaid.

I have to say, if I were the Seahawks, Patriots, Colts or Cardinals, I would give up the two #1's in a blink

Cowboys LT Tyron Smith restructures contract

8:22 pm ET)Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smithrestructured his contract Monday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The move created an additional $8.16 million in salary cap space for the Cowboys. The team converted $10.2 million of his $11.039 million base salary in 2015 into a signing bonus.

The 24-year-old left tackle is entering his fifth season with the Cowboys after being selected in the first round of the 2011 draft. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named First-team All-Pro in 2014.

Saw this coming, Cowboys needed it

So we go from around $4M in space to around $12M?

this is the one expected. Hopefully not Romo

So your saying it's time to stop screwing around and pay the piper with the biggest cap hit in the NFL?
27 million cap hit, that's a monster number. But you have to think this is the year to do it.

I guess the question is, can you lock up Dez and Murray and eat that hit all at the same time.

If they restructure him again, then you have to think its possible the Cowboys might have Romo whacked.

If they so choose they can so sign Murray without touching Romo. If they sign Dez that drops his 2015 hit and they likely do something with Carr to lower his 2015 number. Maybe convert his $8M salary into $4M guaranteed or maybe cut post 6/1 if he doesn't agree to it.

Pretty sure the FO, AND Carr already know his 2015 number will drop to the $4M range or so. Think he will be happy if he's not cut

Good move. One thing I don't like to do is count cap space on possible contract redos. I certainly hope they don't push any of Romos money further into the future. I'm a big Romo fan but I have my doubts he makes it to the end of is contract healthy. Need to keep his dead money to a minimum.

I love hearing the national ''experts'' talk about the cap strapped Cowboys lol. They can create all the room they need without even touching Romo's deal

It amazes me how many know so little about cap details and what restructuring can be done, as well as dead money etc. Lots of them just type out of their ass most of the time

They love beating the dead horse about Jerry. The fact is, the front office has done a heck of a job the last couple of years
