1) His team will finish no better than 7th in his conference. No player has won when their team wasn't top 4 in their conference since the late 80's if I'm correct.

2) Missed time. Usually MVP voting DOES factor in amount of games played if it's a close call and is often used as a tie-breaker if you will.

Those two things will hurt him and probably pull him to third behind Curry/Harden when it's all said and done.

Respect to him for what he's done though, this tear is just absolutely unreal and it's been fun to follow as a basketball fan.

Hell, he might have 10 more triple-doubles by the time voting comes around.

Then what?

An excellent point Mecca.

I agree. Very little to no chance it happens.

The award is a joke. Nash won two of them.

I disagree with number 2. I think he played enough to be a mvp. Number 1 is whats holding him back.

Ok, how about he doesn't win it and then the Thunder win a title? How about then? Just saying what he is doing has never been done before, you have to throw out the past.

That would make perfect sense if the playoffs were factored into it… which they aren't … So you lost me there with that example.

MVP voting always always always is heavily weighed on team success whether you like it or not.

Yeah by taking 40 shots a game and missing 30 of them.

Sure, along with the 9 turnovers.

Personally, I think Harden will win.

But, a case could be made for Westbrook.

I'm certainly aware of that, just saying it is very much possible and what he is doing has never been done. Throw out the past.

Dumbass comment of the night. Congrats.

Then again, your team didn't exist back then so you probably didn't watch Nash in his prime.

I think Westbrook could do 18 and 10 a night on a non-playoff team.
