I'm certainly aware of that, just saying it is very much possible and what he is doing has never been done. Throw out the past.

Ehh, if Curry and Harden weren't having the seasons they are right now I would go with Westbrook if there weren't any other solid candidates. But I just don't see a way he passes them.

Let's say OKC goes on a tear and wins tons of games to close out the year and Westbrook continues this ridiculousness then maybe he'll have a shot.

That would make perfect sense if the playoffs were factored into it… which they aren't … So you lost me there with that example.

MVP voting always always always is heavily weighed on team success whether you like it or not.

Agreed.

The one thing that Westbrook has working in his favor is the fact that his exploits will be fresh in the minds of voters.

But, the things that he has working against him is his Teams record and his questionable shot selection.

He has to tone down that hero ball.

So now you're saying the Suns weren't a playoff team when Nash won? *facepalm*

Check the standings please.

I don't remember. Anyways, I was just trolling. Settle down.

Sure, along with the 9 turnovers.

Personally, I think Harden will win.

But, a case could be made for Westbrook.
It's between Harden and Curry. Westbrick will get votes but he won't be close to the first two.

Suns with Nash were the most entertaining team since showtime lakers.

1) His team will finish no better than 7th in his conference. No player has won when their team wasn't top 4 in their conference since the late 80's if I'm correct.

2) Missed time. Usually MVP voting DOES factor in amount of games played if it's a close call and is often used as a tie-breaker if you will.

Those two things will hurt him and probably pull him to third behind Curry/Harden when it's all said and done.

Respect to him for what he's done though, this tear is just absolutely unreal and it's been fun to follow as a basketball fan.

Considering the injuries they've had, #1 could work in his favor. If ever there's been a player of a team that finished outside the top 4 that deserved the MVP, it's Westbrook.

Read the last part of my OP…. I gave Westbrook props. He's one of my favorite non-Suns to watch play, I just don't think he'll win MVP this year despite his insane #'s.

I don't think Westbrick will win the MVP, but he's made this the best MVP race ever. I just hope Curry wins over bitch ass flopper Harden.

Meh...Also oft-injured and on a Team on the outside looking in on the playoff race.

But, he is the future....

IF he stays healthy.

This year's MVP race has actually been pretty mediocre. Maybe it's more exciting because of WB's late surge, but pretty lackluster in my opinion

You guys remember 05-06's MVP race?

1. Steve Nash - 18.8 PPG, 10.5 AST, 51 % FG, 43 % 3PT, 92 % FT (Suns - 2nd Seed)
2. Lebron James - 31.4 PPG, 7.0 REB, 6.6 AST, 48 % FG, 33 % 3PT (Cavs - 3rd Seed)
3. Dirk Nowitzki - 26.6 PPG, 9.0 REB, 2.8 AST, 48 % FG, 40 % 3PT 90 % FT (Mavs - 60 wins)
4. Kobe Bryant - 35.4 ppg 5.3 REB, 4.5 AST, 45 % FG, 34 % 3PT (Lakers - 7th Seed)

The winner this year would probably finish 5th in 05-06 and 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in most other years.

Nash's shooting percentages put him over the top. Joined the historic 90-50-40 club.

What's crazy is Nash arguably had even better numbers the following season and didn't win it (Dirk won it I believe)

18.6 PPG, 11.6 AST, 53 % FG, 45.5 % 3PT, 89.9 % FT (Missed the 50-40-90 club again just barely)
