Forget the SEC exposed part, look at the arrests.

SEC: 46.2%
Big Ten: 18.7%
Big 12: 13.4%
PAC 12: 11.9%
ACC: 9.7%

Almost half of P5 arrests happen in the SEC. That needs to be addressed

I think the behavior needs to be addressed. It seems that other conferences are doing a much better job controlling and molding kids, so I really don't understand the question

And I bet the majority of these arrests are for weed. Where in that region they are still treating weed smoking like they did in the 50s.

Out west would be the same if they had Mayberry Pds as well.

That is only 2 states,so it doesn't explain it. Plus there it's the P5, not P2

Every arrest must be looked at individually and not clumped together. Maybe in the southeast they enforce better. Stat means less than nothing.

You can come up with theories to explai it away, but clearly there is an outlier amongst the P5. I will go with Occam's Razor, you can go with enforcement

I agree with this.

The simplest answer is the right one. The SEC, as a whole, is simply recruiting more questionable characters.

Richt has no problem suspending or kicking off anyone no matter how good they are. Now Florida is a different animal.

Well, I did a little math and all you've done is post a link that shows how people can use stats to manipulate things.

In college football there were 134 arrests. Of those, the SEC had 62 of them.

Among 14 teams, that averages out to: 4.4 people per team. So, 4.4 out of 85 scholarship players translates out to: 5.17% of the players on scholarship, but this is probably counting all people on the teams, so it's more like 4.4 out of 120 players which comes out to 3.6%

So, 3.6% of the players in the SEC got arrested. That's hardly a big deal.

I think 10 of them are from Tennessee getting busted for underage drinking.

1. I love this site exist because it confirms how much the SEC is in the heads of other conferences' fans.
2. This is a fan site not exactly Pulitzer Price material and very bias.
3. I could find a fan site for just about every P5 team that promotes the same kind of garbage. There are Auburn sites dedicated to trying to prove Alabama is the whore of Babylon and there are Bama sites that do the same to Auburn.

So what we have here is basically one guy's version of a seedy tabloid devoted to the SEC. If you are going to believe everything you read here then you might as well start a thread about how Elvis is alive and was abducted by Aliens.

Here's the breakdown by school.

Btw, the stats given aren't just arrests. It includes citations as well. So getting a speeding ticket gets you listed. In the case of Tennessee, 4 of them were arrests, the other 7 were just citations for underage drinking(10 of the 11 happened at once for a party busted).

Tennessee: 11
Texas A&M: 10
Georgia: 8
Kentucky: 6
Ole Miss: 6
Mizzou: 5
Alabama: 5
LSU: 4
Auburn: 2
Miss St: 2
South Carolina: 1
Vandy: 1
Florida: 1
Arkansas: 0

So meh.

And almost half the arrests in all of the P5 conferences came from the SEC.

That's what the OP Stated. It's still all relative. Conference by conference or team by team. The proportions are the same.

They aren't even all arrests. Many of them I've looked at are just tickets. The source is biased and tries to push them off as something else.

You clearly did that to lessen the effect. It is still roughly double other conferences, which is an issue. It's also about 4x the incarceration rate amongst US adults.
