Can we give a nod of respect to Bruce Allen, and a small Wasup nod to Dan Snyder

It takes a big man to admit in a big way that he doesnt quite know how to fix a problem. With this move, Bruce Allen admits, he is a super accountant, but needs to let those who know how to evaluate talent do it.

And Dan gets a small nod for FINALLY admitting that going on the XBOX and constructing a roster doesnt work either.

Hopefully 1/6/2015 will go down in the books as the day the Redskins finally turned the corner and started moving UP once again.

Dude.. If IM Jim Haslett I just texted Bruce Allen a picture of my middle finger. :)

As i said in another post, if this guy is as good as advertised, I dare say he will find us the talent to make whom ever the DC is look good.

I will give a tentative nod to dan. I've seen to many good people come here and leave in a broken man. I'm going to wait and see how this plays out before I believe dan may have changed.

Agree with you on Snyder & Allen. As I have stated before - all I really wanted was for Snyder & Co. to admit they were wrong & seek ways to do this differently since it obviously has not worked in quite a while.

As for Haslett - couldn't disagree more. So what if more talent is brought in - a good coach will make that talent even better on a consistent basis. Nothing personal against Haslett, but I never want to see him associated again with the Redskins in any capacity. Good luck to him - somewhere else.

A good Gm would have known what the coaches system was about and what he needed to make HIS system work and brought in talent accordingly. You dont draft or sign Zone corners to play in a man system. You dont bring in two in the box safeties for a system that needs at least one GOOD over the top safety.

Much Like Shanahan, Marty, Norv and a list of other coaches who came here with good Reps and left here with the fan base ready to burn their house down, I get the feeling Hslett will be some place else in a year or two and every one will be saying.. we ll fuck why couldnt he produce those kinds of sacks and turn overs when he was our DC>

According to my count, we still got more members than the RG3 fan club these days. :suds:

Are you serious? Please enlighten me & reply with the long list of teams that were coached by Haslett that had huge success on defense. Maybe I am wrong - show me the facts.

No offense, but I believe that you always overstate this. I don't believe that there are many diehard RG3 fans who believe that he doesn't have any flaws (some significant). I believe that many fans are like me & simply believe that it wouldn't hurt to give him another try next season & at worst he plays his way off the team.

If that is part of being in his fan club then count me as a member. However - if you are stating that there are folks who are still ready to put him in the HOF then that club is very small. Just because you don't hate someone doesn't mean that you worship them. There is huge area in the middle.

I'm not convinced that this revelation came to Bruce Allen naturally. In as much as I do appreciate this much nobler approach (Thank you) I'm more convinced than ever that this revelation came as a result of that horribly failed press conference, after which even his stanches supporters had to admit that he was miscast.

Just like Bruce, Dan is most comfortable in his element....in this case public relations. That presser is best characterized as putrid, something that no self styled PR man could defend. In essence there was nowhere else for Dan to go other than what appears to be, at long last a step in the right direction. It kinda reminds me of a guy who devises all of these get rich quick schemes and after years of failure, he finally sits down and writes a best seller about not trying get rich quick schemes.

Time will tell if there is a turn-a-round here, but one thing is certain, when it comes to selling NFL hope to the hungry masses, none will prove better at it than the current Washington ownership group.

Well - don't really care why but the fact that this change did occur (kudos to you for calling for this a while ago). For once - this is a solid move that is not simply about hype. No aging new coach who has too many duties, no overpriced, aging FA, no guy with the right last name, etc. This is simply a move based on the person's background with recent, appropriate experience.

This move could fail. However - very few people throughout the league would argue that this is a bad move. We will see.

Thank you, it is well overdue and as you've written a definite step in the right direction. I see no downside to a move like this, even if it fails short term, it sets a precedence that states clearly no more experiments contrary to tried and true wisdom. In future years, how nice would it be to find/promote real personnel guys to continue a legacy reignited in 2015?

Facts are, you dont coach in the NFL for 18 years if you suck as many of you have suggested. 3-5 years, maybe. Good old boys club MIGHT factor in for an 8 year stretch.

Sorry dude, but Im just of the opinion that when EVERY ONE that comes to the team fails... its starts to not be a case of this guy sucks or that guy sucks, but the team letting every one down

May of 1999, Snyder purchased this team. It may have taken him 16 years to GTFUOOTW, but he looks like he has finally. Humility - a modest or low view of one's own importance(ok that might be stretching it a bit

).

On this day January 6th 2015, the future showed some glimmer of hope to Redskins' fans.
