How do you keep the logo intact? I would love to, but I’m sure the non Indian liberals wouldn’t like it.

Reconfiguring the arrow design into one that's unrelated to Native American types and rebranding the team name to "Warhawks" would work. There would necessarily have to be small changes to the song too!
(Braves on the warpath = team on a war path for example) Everything else can stay the same including colors. Outside of that, if there's a will to keep the Native American motif (honoring us was a lie)he could rebrand the team with an actual tribe name with their blessing.

Snyder will likely not take this route. Instead he will probably go with the name of his former indoor team... D.C. Defenders (yuck)

BTW: try singing the team song with any names suggested. Then try warhawks. (Warpath works too but symbolically a road or highway?)

Hey bud, me and you are not on the same side of the fence, but we can all get along. Hate to see you go. That’s what’s wrong with this new way of thinking. We all can disagree with political views but in the end we’re all Americans. We need not destroy our history, just learn from it. We're all children of god. I hope you and your family are doing well.

I don't believe that we are as far apart as it seems. For example, I believe that there's nothing destructive about an honest retelling of our history. Although it might be initially painful, the net result will be a stronger more united nation. Anyway...

Thanks! All is well here. I hope that all is well with you and yours!

I have read with interest your posts and perspective for years on many different topics. And while we sometimes disagree on things it saddens me that you are leaving the forum. A bright and reasoned viewpoint from someone who thinks differently About a topic is sometimes what one needs to widen their own view of things in the world of sports and beyond.
As a fan of football nothing warms my heart more than watching the Cowboys take on the Redskins in the fall. But any voice going silent is a loss to all of us. I wish you all the best on your continued journey.

Thanks man! It was a heartwrenching decision that I had to force myself into being comfortable with. I won't lie, it's going to be a difficult withdrawal, as I've been embraced as a family member here and oddly when the banter turns to divisional rivalries. For now it's not a complete departure from the threads, although I'll be cutting back dramatically. Again thanks, we all might rep different colors, but the love comes from the game

i have come up with a plan to keep you ! i am going to sprinkle just enough political bait to entice you to comment and just keep it running indefinitely . a subtle "forced " thing going on :D:suds:

Dad, Isn't is amazing what happens when you allow your iron ruling moderator abilities to disappear for as long as you allow this to happen and just allow people to speak their mind and be themselves? I'm not just talking about my good friend Sty being able to state what's on his mind, I'm also talking about others who we never see here being able to speak without restrictions. I look forward to you telling us all next week that our threads were number #1 on this site with total hits.

Well you know we did that with the politics thread and it didn’t work out . People got hurt feelings .
Add to it that half the board didn’t want. Politics and name calling going on and hijacking threads so I had To go the way I went because people weren’t respecting the ground rules to have those things . I can’t let posters insult each other and bully people can I ? Don’t people who want discussions about the thread topic only have rights to that ? And I will be honest I was a part of that . And believe me people who left the board calling other racist or “ now they saw who these friends really are “ weren’t interested in open discussion but rather “ gotcha “ moments . It’s one reason why Sty will be missed because he can keep emotions in check . He can have thoughtful reasoned responses . I don’t like being iron fisted but it’s hard to moderate a board with such strong personalities. Now do I let insulting go on and as a poster too do I not get too ? Do I let politics highjack every thread ? Now I am letting a lot go so Sty can answer and field questions etc and soon this will devolve into a pissing contest . Now with his discussion. In the politics thread ( when it goes there ) I won’t be a mod , I will be a poster with no power to do anything

but as a moderator who is supposed to make calls on things I have to be fair . I don’t like banning people but sometimes there is no choice

When the name change comes lots will change here and my mindset is going to change and I will piss off another whole group of people so it won’t end

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to comment on this before dad did. Here in lies the problem, we had the political thread and feelings got hurt and posters left. Dad done the right thing as a moderator and ended it. Those who left did not have the same beliefs as the moderator, and that was a lot of the problem. I’m not sure you could find anyone else who’d want to moderate this mess. I’m happy we have @skinsdad62 to do this.

well thank you for your kind words . and yes its true they didnt have my views and they shouldnt be forced into having them . emotions rather then reason ruled the day

you know why some people left ? the triggers if you will ? DGF was triggered because i wouldnt admit fox news was biased . that was the final straw , truth be told fox does have bias but DGF wanted to lead me to a "gotcha moment " and i wasnt going to go for it . when it come to politics people you arent going to change peoples minds and it wasnt just me others here hold my views .

that is one reason shark left . the views of people on this board didnt match up to his and as the debate intensified emotions took over and he couldnt separate fandom from politics . now if i am wrong he can correct me he said it in his farewell post

ehb5 left because i banned him from the politics thread because of insults . i wont release the stuff from the PM but in the essence he didnt want to say he would curb the insults . he felt he was kissing my ass so he left because he had to much pride to not insult people and have a discussion

mitz left because of a" lie " i told about why i liked KC i said i saw him play at MSU and here in holland and in a subsequent post i said i hadnt . that is true . i did both of those things but in 47000 posts i may have forgot what i wrote months ago . i got ahead of myself . he was trying to say that because i have seen KC coming up that i was biased towards him and thus my view was invalid . he was a good one though , he went on the general board and told everyone what an ogre i was and we had a parade of trolls wanting to get "banned " . they found out it wasnt so but he wouldnt let it go

Skins 2021 is an interesting case he was mad at me for those people leaving . he felt that i shouldnt have an opinion and defend it so fiercely . he felt by me giving my opinion and my opinion alone that i wouldnt tolerate "dissent " even though none of them were banned from anything because of their views or any of their posts . he threatened he would make my moderator life miserable until i quit and he tried . he got issued a ban . i let him back and back to the same things and yet another ban . he would have you believe that because he doesnt like haskins that the big baby moderator wouldnt let him be here

in the 9 years i have been here these are the types of things that have gone on i dont know why socal left or cali left . could it be because of me ? sure i guess it could but i dont know and i damn sure arent taking a 3rd parties word for it

so yeah i have made some errors , done some things i shouldnt have apologized for them and focused on enforcement of rules . but usually the malcontents dont accept it and they do what they do

to those i am some power hungry asshole who has nothing to do but violate their rights and control their posting lives . very amusing

Dad, the purpose of my post was not to open an old can of worms, it was simply to say that since you have relaxed the rules on this thread temporarily it seams that people have been allowed to state their case without any name calling so far. To be honest, I haven't posted on any of our other threads lately simply because I have grown tired of all the drama. I'm posting here mainly to support my friend Sty with his views and to read the views of others. So far I think you will agree with me that the discussions have been civil from all parties.

I'm just curious, I'm sure that being a moderator of any venue is not and easy job with all of the different personalities that must be dealt with. Why do you want to even be a moderator?

During my lifetime I was chosen for three different jobs that I turned down so you haven't answered my question and obviously you don't have to.

we had to twist dad's arm. If I remember correctly at first he didn't want the job. In my book he has done a good job.

No one else wanted it but we didn’t want the espn fiasco . I didn’t want it so I took it reluctantly . It’s not like it’s secret squirrel stuff . I consulted the owners about what to do and I used a forum model for the rules
