can't say I disagree. But I thought the same thing when we traded for MG. Not that radical, but I was thinking "we better resign this guy, cuz we gave up a shit ton more than I thought. But if we win a ring who cares."

In law school terms... Teams that NEED to win to make the playoffs are idiots. Baltimore is a team that NEEDS to win to make the playoffs, otherwise 2 teams could overtake them. Therefore, Baltimore is an idiot team.

Edit: along with all the other teams that will overpay for a player to make the playoffs... hell, it sorta looks like detroit just did for soria. Even though it was to a much lesser degree, it was still an overpayment nonetheless that cost them 2 of their top 3 or 4 pitching prospects

I don't see Rios getting much more than what soria got us

Milwaukee is winning big..... Houston is losing. I hope we win 1 out of the next 2 and start losing again.

I get what you are trying to say... But its not the same situation.

Rios was a salary dump + after July 31 trade/waiver claim. Im sure CHI got better offers before the deadline... But once that waiver claim was made, they had three options. Get SOMETHING for him, let him go for nothing... Or keep him.

And Option 3 wasnt really an option.

I know the situation, but they knew the waiver option was coming up, so they should've taken the best offer before the deadline, which makes me think the pre deadline deals and offers weren't much better

Phil Klein pitched 2 innings tonight for the Express. He has still not given up a run in AAA in 12 IP. In 31 games in 2014 he has a .059 ERA. Like I said earlier, I think we're going to have a damn good bullpen next year. They will take their lumps like any young pitchers, but we have a lot of good young relievers.

We usually have pretty good luck putting together a bullpen.

I wonder if anyone is calling about Cotts? He might be one I would hold though. The return probably wouldn't be worth it.

I'll do some research later, but I know they have Bauer (who I really, really advice steering clear from). The only guy I recall is some hard throwing dude named Dylan Baker. Except he got hurt last year, so I havent really heard from him since. Don't remember anyone else

Edit: after like 3 minutes of google research i cant find one pitcher's name i recognize.

My GF's brother in law went to HS with her. He went on a date with her and said it was awful. He said she was/is really annoying.

Haha, I know a some stories about her she worked at the CBS affiliate here in Tyler for awhile. Several of the guys at the station still tell stories about her. She dated and I believe was engaged to or married a guy that played baseball with us some years back? She does talk a whole lot and mostly about "Jane" from what I remember

What do the Indians have in pitching prospects because:

The Indians are in the market for a starting pitcher and a right-handed hitting outfielder, reports Paul Hoynes of the Plain Dealer. While the team is looking for a way to add a number one type rotation piece, Hoynes says that looks unlikely at present.

If the Indians are looking for a starter I doubt seriously they would have a pitcher worth trading for.

But about the game. It was one of the better all around games by the Rangers in quite some time. No big issues other than JPA getting picked off 1st. But I am not a fan at this time of Feliz being the closer. And Klein ended up pitching 3 innings of perfect ball. I am surprised they are not having him close at RR.

I'm not going to pretend to know Rios' trade value, not to mention this is a different market than when we traded for him, but do the O's really even have a need for an OF?

If they do, they have several other good pitching prospects as well. I think one is Bundy but he might be coming back from TJ this year if i remember correctly. I just sort of think they need their starting pitching as thats been a weak spot for them.

If the Indians are looking for a starter I doubt seriously they would have a pitcher worth trading for.

They would be looking for a pitcher to insert into their rotation. The pitcher we would get in return would most likely be a prospect.

I went through their minor league system and there's not any pitchers I'd be interested in anyways.
