That's what our season is all about; finding guys who can be here next year, and I'm very encouraged by what I've seen outta this young man.

Talked to my friend today about Elvis. Sorta grim news. He said that we actually were shopping him, but we could hardly get anything for him... so we've decided to hold onto him unless someone comes to us. I thought we could get a good package, one like a Gausman and Harvey, but I guess I overestimated his worth. He's just an average short stop guys. He's getting grossly overpaid. The general public wouldnt be too happy with parting with one of our most popular players for little to nothing. Basically, we wouldnt be trading him to get prospects, we'd be trading him to shed the salary.

None of this surprises me at all....other than you're admitting you overestimated his worth (just kidding - keep your sense-of-humor).

Seriously....I never ever thought anyone was gonna offer us anything we'd be interested in. With the salary he has coming, the bat he doesn't possess, erratic SS play, and to make it even worse, GM's made note of the fact he showed up this year totally unprepared, I was pretty sure we were stuck.

Personally, I've not punted on EA being a big part of our future. This could be a real wake-up call for him that he's embarrassing himself, and he's playing for the only team who even semi-wants him.

Time to nut-up son or just be a joke. You decide kid.

There is always the off season. For our sake I hope his season improves.
