All everyone is doing is guessing whats going to happen with LeBron and noone really has any idea. Even LeBron at this time doesnt know. P.S. dont read what B.K. posts because he said the Spurs couldnt beat good teams so he has no cred whatsoever.

The only reason for Lebron to leave Miami is the money he can make outside of his contract. Here is the hypothetical where I could see Lebron leaving. I'll use the Lakers as my example since I don't think he's coming to the Lakers anyway.

The team would have to be able to put together a roster where they could win right away. For the Lakers, that would mean Kobe at least close to 100% of what he was before the Achilles, re-signing Pau and adding young athletic players who can get up and down the floor with Lebron. Basically, re-creating Showtime with Lebron playing the Magic Johnson role and Kobe playing a Byron Scott/James Worthy type role.

If a team can convince him that he will have the opportunity to win now, then they can sell him on the money he can make outside of his contract. For example, all of the new jersey sales, t-shirt sales, etc. That is the one thing Miami can't offer him that other teams can.

He has so much upside, I couldn't live with the decision to trade him. He could be great, like legit great. Just needs maturity and experience.

So there's no available player(s) or combination of players/draft picks to explore trading Kyrie for?

I humbly disagree.

I see his upside, but he is flawed (and injury prone).

Why?

The Heat team store just doubled its size.
I believe that was mostly because of James merchandise.

Why go to the Lakers and play with Kobe, they dont seem like they are close or anything. Kobe isnt ready to hand over the reigns to anyone. We saw that with Howard. Kobe is all about the $$, look at his contract he signed. Miami can probably lure Pau to come play here.

Basics of supply and demand only on the demand side. It's a new market for him. The "Heat Market" is already about capped out. How many Lebron jerseys and t-shirts are people really going to buy? Especially when many of them already have Lebron jersey's, t-shirts, etc.

If he goes to a new team, he gets a huge chunk of that fanbase buying Lebron related gear, plus many of the "Lebroniacs" who will follow him to that new team will also be buying Lebron gear from that new team.

There would simply be much more demand for Lebron gear with the new team than with the Heat.

Do all Heat fans suffer from reading comprehension issues? Go back and re-read my post. Pay special attention to the part where I said "I'm going to use the Lakers as an example since I don't think he's coming to the Lakers anyway", if you still don't understand, maybe bks can explain it better since he actually responded to what the post was about.

As for the contract Kobe signed, both he and the Lakers have said it was a very short negotiation and that Kobe was assured that they could still put a contending team around him. Basically, according to both, the Lakers said "Here's the offer", Kobe asked about still being able to put together a contending team, the Lakers assured him believed they could, so Kobe signed.

The contract still allows for another max or close to max player and it's only a 2 year deal anyway, so it's not like it hamstrings them long term.

As for your Dwight comment: if you think Dwight has any credibility given what he did in both Orlando and with the Lakers and his complaints about "touches" in Houston, then you may have more than just reading comprehension issues to deal with.

@trojan you make a point with the jersey sales, but all Miami has to do is come out with a new uniform style. They have done that a couple times. Then everyone in miami buys the new jerseys.

Sure, there are some fans who will buy the new jerseys, but even that is limited when compared to a whole new fanbase. There will always be fans who will just stick with what they've already got.

When Kobe changed numbers, a lot of #24 jerseys were sold, but there were also many who just stuck with #8.

Of course it's possible for the Lakers to land him. If the Lakers can make him an offer that just blows him away, then he very well could sign with them. I just don't believe he will because I don't think the Lakers can offer him anything better than the Heat can.

The Lakers can put a very nice, even contending roster around him, but so can the Heat and he'll have a much easier time getting out of the east than he will the west.

I agree in your previous post re: Pau. I think that if the only thing the Heat did in the off-season was add Pau, they would greatly increase their chances. He would be perfect in Miami's system and would take much of the burden off of Lebron.

I really hope Pau doesn't go to the Heat. It would put a serious dent in my "Heat Hate".

You know, whatever LeBron's decision does to his popularity and image isn't just a matter of him "wanting to be liked".... its a serious $$ issue.

LeBron makes more than $50 million every year on endorsements. Obviously that's more than twice his NBA salary. How much of an impact a particular move could have on that figure, if any, is debatable... but at the very least its a factor.

Why weren't they involved? Oh that's right they were overmatched.

Really?? lewis is deadly from behind the arc and makes for a hard match up. Yet he played for what.. about 5 min. in the last two games. For all this talk about lebron being such a great passer, how could be not figure out how to get these guys involved? Instead they have Wade out there for 30 some minutes running around the court beside james. Those other guys weren't overmatched.. they just weren't allowed to be involved.

Because passing to someone on the bench would result in a turnover.

I think he would make more with a new team. Sure, twitter, etc. would explode, he'd be criticized yet again and Heat fans would be burning their LeBron gear (that they've already paid for), but there would be many, many fans of his new team and the Lebroniacs lining up to buy Lebron gear.

The question would be, would the extra money that he made be worth the renewed criticism that he has been spending 4 years trying to move past?

LOL gordon... @gpm Lewis is deadly behind the arc? Did you not watch this season. he was not deadly, he had a couple good games but deadlyu is not the term i would use anymore for him. Even in the Finals, LBJ got the ball to the open 3 (Lewis included) and they just couldnt connect.

Yeah, I think the immediate impact would be more money if he changed teams... but there could be a longer-term endorsement impact based on his image. I, personally, don't think it could be hurt that much, but I would understand an argument that it could.

As for the criticism, it definitely does seem to bother him and could be a big factor. Long-term, I don't think it will have as much of an impact as some people think. Jordan had huge critics all throughout his career.

A couple decades go by and you'd think he won the title every season he played, by sweeping every series and hitting a game winning shot in every game :-)

Lebron can win anywhere. For Christ sake he took a team to the Finals and his second best player was Larry fucking Hughes. Its not a matter of winning its a matter of if you think LBJ cares what people think about him. The best thing he could do is A. Stay put and rebuild or B. Go back home to Cleveland and try to bring his home team their first title. Thise are really the only 2 viable options if you think he gives a shit about how people think of him. If he doesnt and is SOLELY about winning then he should go join the Clippers and win the next 3 or 4 titles.
