Good heavens. Take a look at these numbers.

Rangers RHP Colby Lewis (5-4, 5.97 ERA) remains in search of his first quality start as he heads into his 13th outing of the season. In his last outing, he needed to shut the door in the sixth inning after the Rangers took an 11-3 lead at Oakland but could not make it through the inning. Lewis is averaging 51/3 innings per start while batters are hitting .343 against him. The numbers are more exaggerated in Arlington, where he is 1-3 with a 7.42 ERA and a .368 opponents’ batting average in six starts.

Matchup of note: A number of Tigers have silly matchup numbers vs. Lewis (including postseason), including OF Austin Jackson (10 for 24, .417), DH Victor Martinez (8 for 17, .533) and 1B Miguel Cabrera (7 for 20, .350)

So you're saying tonight may be rough... :yahoo:

As for the whole Darvish thing - that's EG being click-bait. IMO.

Nothing in baseball is ever 100%. I've said it many times before, "everyone/anyone is tradable; it's what you're willing to give up in return which is key."

As good as Yu has been, I have concerns about him like, (1) why doesn't he rise to the occasion facing his nemesis, and ours, the A's? (2) Why doesn't he trust his stuff enough to throw strikes from the 1st inning on? and (3) Does he really want to be here long term?

And THREE is really my biggest concern.

A couple issues if we did trade Darvish which I doubt is he put butts in seats and we would be kicking our Asian market out the door. I know that has little to do with the team on the field but it is money for the franchise which can help in putting a team on the field.

For the short term I agree. But long term, winning will put put butts-in-seats, regardless of nationality.

I, by no means, am suggesting we should trade him. But I've got no problem whatsoever with kicking the tires on potential trade partners for him. His someone blows our socks off, so be it. That's exactly what it would take IMO.

Keep in mind, he can leave of his own free will in 2017 with little compensation to show for it, and this is very concerning to be.

Well, the track record to date is a nightmare for us. Maybe tonight will be Colby's night to get his first quality start against a team which has owned him.

So with the news that the Rays are willing to move Price..........
....who here thinks the Rangers should get involved?

He's more than just a rental. Team control for all of next year..which would bolster the rotation need for this season and next.

And if things dont pan out next season, could always dangle him back out on the market.

A starting rotation of Darvish, Price and Holland would be a strong 3. With Perez (maybe) coming back by mid-late season next year.

I'm just afraid of what the cost would be for him.

That said, I sure as hell dont want the Dodgers to trade for him.

Seems like trading Darvish would be a huge mistake. I feel like even having his name out there is a mistake. I realize everyone is tradeable but SP is the one thing we are heavily lacking and he is the only for sure thing we got going into next season. Unless we feel like we have to completely go into rebuilding mode for the next 2 season... trading him for anyone besides Kershaw makes no sense IMO. That's just one more starter to replace and a very tough one to replace at that.

Personally I hope we find a way to get an extension done this off season.

It would take Jackson, Gallo, and Profar probably. If so, no thanks

I'd hope the Rangers are currently chatting with his agents re: signing long term right now. B/c if he's not willing to consider it now, then he probably won't be in the off season either. Yu's value probably won't get any higher than it is right now either.

And it's seldom a mistake to listen. Let's see what the market is offering, is all I'm suggesting. And there are so many teams which would feel Darvish would take them over the top for the next few seasons, plus at an incredibly inexpensive contract, would make their mental mouths water at the thought. He's playing for less than half of his current market value. To any GM that alone is enticing.

Again, I'm not making a suggestion of trading him. But if someone blows the doors off, you gotta listen. Pulling the trigger is now up to us, and maybe a whole different matter.

And why on earth would the Dodgers trade an ace for an ace? :noidea:

They'll want young pitching to be the headliner IMO...
I could see jackson, asher, sardinas & williams/mazara/guzman potentially getting it done. Will it? Doubtful. But its a strong offer. Someone will overpay though...

That's 4 of the Top 10 in my scenario. Yikes.

Not sure how he'll be received. Team is in 4th place and falling fast...so fans should just keep their mouths shut and thank Ian for his time here. IMO.

I don't think they would but that's the sort of deal it would take for me too be interested at least. In fact, given the cost, I would prefer to keep Darvish's contract. I guess my point was we need an ace, so if we get rid of ours, we will just need to replace them.

I have nothing against Kinsler. I would just give him an ordinary ovation. The big ovations are for guys like MY and Pudge.

I would stand up and clap for him. I didn't take his comments to heart... he was a big part of our WS core. I pretty much even forgive Josh at this point but still hate he went to a rival.

well sure....if they blow the doors off. Isn't that true of any player?.... and how does one define blow the doors off? That's not a hand full of prospects with high grades like the trade with Atlanta. It's not the same for two more years...if that

shoot.....some of the most active posters on this board would trade every asset this team had assembled. Did any of you follow this team before Ryan, JD and Washington?

I was not a huge fan of Kinsler's game, but would certainly extend my appreciation for his time here.
