Monkey you have me thinking i like this set up

i have always run my league with incredibly insanely detailed keeper rules (some guys need a lawyer to understand them)

you have me loving this setup

ill just need to figure a way to grandfather those rules in.....

Do you know what pick you have? Do you know others keepers? Vereen in the 16th round is incredible value. If you must keep Shady (no way I would, but looks like I'm not budging you)... then I'd lose Cobb and keep four backs. I'm sure you can get Dez back, another good one in the 2nd or maybe Gronk?

I just want to join a keeper league... I am in one, but i dont like the rules at all... its a 10 team league and keepers are where they were drafted the previous season, and you can not keep someone who was picked in the first 3 rounds, or a free agent...

i didnt consider Gronk im nervous about him and that is a very tough call to make so have fun with that
i always assumed you to be more of a (find value a TE) guy....

hey maybe you get Gronk in 3rd if you let him go you never know

lets say Graham -Thomas are kept that leaves 7 guys looking for a TE if they all assume that you are keeping Gronk

therefore of the 7 guys

how many are keeping 2 best available guys and thus also are only drafting in 3rd round-

so when the 3rd round comes you get Gronk or a great player that some one skipped to draft Gronk

and you keep the bang up value of Cobb or whoever is your last keeper

my league is similar to that but the keeper move up a round the first year a 2 rounds each of the following years..

we also do not keep anyone from the 1st 3 rounds... the gang likes that because most of the best are eligible to be drafted each year which they enjoy.....

are free agents count as last round draft picks if kept...

the more i think of monkey rules the more i like them....

I pass on Cobb... I just dont think there are so many WRs, why does it have to be Cobb?? he can get 2 elite ones in the 2nd and 3rd round... dont forget that it is a 10 team league 2RB,2WR and 1 flex... by keeping mccoy, benard and bell, he does not need an elite WR3...

Monkey a question for ya

if you keep Bell and Cobb this year
what happens next year

A-do they stay as lowest available in year 2

B-do they now be considered as drafted because they were kept and thus become best available

i ask not to know to render my decision about who you should keep
i ask because i want to know the rules

as i wrote above your league has me thinking....

i just dont like it because it is a 10 team league...

what part of the 10 team league bothers you

is it teams to strong

mine is 10 but we roster 20 and play 11 Qb-3Rb-3WR-Te-Flex(rb-wr-te)-K-Df so sometimes the 3rd Rb-3rd Wr-and flex weaken

i do also just mentioning Cobb because he appears to lean that way

i keep Vereen over Cobb

again, why vereen, i would not keep a bench player!!!

a strong bench can win a championship

anyhow i say Vereen over Cobb thats all

as i wrote earlier

it depends on whether he keeps dez before we even talk Vereen/Cobb

i keep

Shady-Dez-Bernard-Bell

I agree that a strong bench is key, but this is a 10 owner league, not a 12 or larger... There will be plenty of players available later on that can make a strong bench... for keepers, i would focus on making the strongest possible Starters... Thats why i like gronk here, because if he is healthy then he will be a stud, if he is not healthy you can always draft a Bennett, or pick up some decent TEs on waivers...

I think the best 4 is Benard, Bell, McCoy, and Gronk...

If i am getting annoying just tell me to shut up... Just very bored...

no worries Milk.....

hard to argue that Milk im just not a Gronk guy
and if he keeps that combo...

Bernard -Bell-McCoy-Gronk--his first pick is in the 3rd round---and obviously a Wr so who does he get

i rather have Dez and take my chances with Gronk still being there in the 3rd or 4th

no, his first pick would be in the 2nd... which gives him either Marshall or Bryant, or something better...

I know gronk has the health risk, i just think in a league like this, he can afford taking the risk...

we decided that you get 1 year benefit from getting a top guy from FA, then, if you keep him 2x, he is like every other guy drafted, best available.

Kinda like real players holding out after they put in 2 good years of service on a 4yr deal, you gotta pay them their due.

Also, we went with the 'best available' after being kept 2 yrs as our version of 'none from the first 3 rounds'.
I think at least 2 teams will be doing major over hauls. Should be interesting.

yup - gronk has a 5th rd value, so I would still open up my 2nd, 3rd, 4th to get best available WR, WR, RB depending on whats out there.

A lot of owners were burned last year from not keeping multiple RBs and missing on their early RB picks in the redraft. I'm thinking that doesn't happen again, or that if it does, more RBs will be taken right away in the redraft.

As for anyone that thinks McCoy is droppable - HELL NO!
Got him as the 6th or 7th overall pick the first year we did this, and I would package him in a deal before just cutting him from the team.

Actually - that has me thinking....I'm going to see what Montee Ball's owner thinks of McCoy.

dont trade him unless you like ball more than McCoy... 10 team leagues, you want to make your starting roster as strong as possible, even if it sacrifices your bench... there should be very good players left on waiver wire, so i would not focus to much on my bench!!!
