which is my whole point, so I guess I should just shut up since that's not changing...

I don't know, ever since I lost in 2010 with AP and CJ2K as my backs, I've turned to WR and journeyman RB's... and have done better.

Don't shut up... maybe if you make the golden point then monkey might change his mind... Unfortunately for you I don't think there is a point strong enough not to keep McCoy...

But just cant pass on Benard and or Bell, who both are ranked just as high as Bryant and marshall in most ADP

That's how I feel about Vereen (and Cobb to and extent)... and I don't care about ADP, it's never the same in any of my real drafts.

haha, I probably never will!

If he let's McCoy go, and say there are 3 owners drafting in the first, who are the 2nd and 3rd ranked players? That much worse than Shady? The same goes for the 2nd round, how many owners will be drafting, half? I just think there is a lot of opportunity to draft good players when all owners aren't drafting, then comes my value picks of a 1200 yard (rush/rec) back in Vereen in the last round, when the Alfred Morris owner gets the same thing for likely "best available".

how would you rank these 5 players?? 1 is best 5 is worst

(Vereen, Cobb, Benard, Bell, Gronk)- this is not for keeper value, it is who you think will do best in fantasy this year in a non PPR

TKO, it sounds like you just don't like McCoy, and would probably pass on him even if he fell to you at pick #3 or #4... But I see a big dropoff at RB between the front end of the first round and the back end of the first round... I would not risk not getting McCoy and getting Arian Foster instead, not to mention risking giving someone else a BETTER RB than you have...

1. Gronk
2. Bernard
3. Bell
4. Vereen
5. Cobb

Gronk gets the vote without the risk factor. The RB's are withing fingernails of each other, and Cobb gets the basement because he's the wideout.

I'll tell ya what, I really hope I don't have to make that choice... I want the back end this year.

And no, I don't hate McCoy, I think he's awesome. This has nothing to do with his talent, it has everything to do with the others' talents.

...and fear not, TKO's RB rankings are near!

so far, every season we've done this, the first actual pick made in the redraft has been the top RB available.

There would be zero chance that I would get McCoy back if I let him go.

Let's sit tight on this debate for right now - let me get a little bit of time this evening and I will post the most likely keepers from each team. I have to do my research on them any way, haven't looked at the other people's rosters in a couple months

i have no prob keeping 4Rb ...eventually they all are needed.....and value is value..

Monkey i still say if you value vereen more than Cobb then keep

Shady-Vereen-Bernard-Bell (if you are confident to redraft Dez in 2)

or Shady-Bernard-Bell-Dez (if u feel the need to keep Dez and not risk loosing him)

alright - let's keep this party rocking. Here are the best players on each team, in draft order. If a player has a * next to their name, that means their value is best available pick. FA means lowest available pick's value.

Team 1:
SJax*
VJax*
Gore 2
Julio 3
Stafford 5
Ellington FA

Team 2
Demaryius*
Brees*
Roddy*
Andre Johnson 3

Team 3
Graham*
Rice*
Welker*
Matthews 5
Murray 6

Team 4
Forte*
Vernon Davis*
(this is the asshole that dropped Antonio Brown and Brady in the first half of the season. if he wasn't my brother in law, probably would have kicked him from the league for inactivity. But he does pay his dues, so I'll take the easy win when I can!)

Team 5
Cruz*
Rodgers*
Ball FA
Brady FA
Foles FA
Stacy FA
Julius Thomas FA
Jeffery FA
(planning on this team dropping Rodgers and going with 4 FAs, but we'll see. He might keep Rodgers and 3 FAs. He hit wavier wire gold mine last season, as you can tell)

Team 7
Peyton*
Alf*
TRich*
Megatron*
Lacy 4
DJax 9
Mike Floyd 10

Team 8
Spiller*
Russell Wilson*
AJ Green*
Kaepernick 5
Jordy Nelson 8
Cordarelle Patterson FA

Team 9

Team 1 has the best pick in the draft, and after sitting on Julio all year with a 3rd round value (I was DYING for him to drop JJ after the injury. Julio at a FA value would be awesome), I believe he dumps both Jacksons and take best available RB.

Teams 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, & 8 will all be using their first round picks on keepers, but I am really uncertain about team 5. We all know Rodgers is amazing, and should be kept, but with Brady and Foles as FA's, I would be hard pressed to not keep one of them and try to resurrect this team. This guy literally struck out on his RB picks last year, and I got stupid and dropped Ball when he wasnt getting any love from Peyton last year.

So potential that team 1 & 5 pick before me, and an outside chance that team 9 doesn't keep Lynch as well. So if 3 picks go ahead of me, I need 2 RBs to get drafted if I don't keep Dez or Marshall. Can't think of any other potential RBs/WRs that are more valuable than Dez/Marshall that will be available.

Monkey let me be sure

Team one has Gore-2 Julio-3

so that tells me he drafted them last year

so best available only happens if you keep a player for a second straight year

the 1st year mirrors draft round from previous year

Correct???

Yes. That owner drafted gore and julio in those rounds last season. so when you have those type of picks available, the following year you almost always have to use up your 1st four rounds, since any good FAs you had from the previous season (which is most likely the reason you'd have early round picks to begin with) and then all of the better players that you drafted all become top picks at the same time.

The owner from Team 2 was super strapped for bench space after having Julio sitting all year. He took over that team from the guy that got me into my first money league, 9 or 10 years ago now. Medical reasons limited his time 2 seasons ago, and he spends a lot more of it with family now than he does with football stats, so he asked if I had any interested reserves to take his place. I get at least 3-4 people that know someone in our league that ask me about joining if a spot becomes open. It seems to be a pain in the ass getting a solid group together to do it year after year, or at least in my circles. If we ever expand to 12, it would have to take an overwhelming majority of vote to swing my decision. We scrambled to get 10 when it came to the original draft day. I wouldn't want to change the league that drastically without 7 or 8 out of 9 votes for it.

Yes Monkey i can relate..

i have 10 in my keeper league im constantly trying to get them more involved took me years just to get them out to draft together...

Most are solid but im always trying to weed out the least interested owners...

:bump:

OK - keeper deadline is approaching this weekend.
Leaning towards keeping Gronk as my 4th keeper.

Quick refresher - my options after whittling down my roster
10 team standard, I pick 10th, snake
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLX, K, DST

McCoy - 1st rd
L Bell - 16th rd
G Bernard - 8th rd

debating between Gronk - 5th rd, and Dez or Marshall - both would = my 2nd rd pick if kept.

Leaning towards Gronk as my last keeper right now - I have an extra 5th rd pick from a previous trade, so that would give me picks in the 2nd-7th rounds to land 2 starting WRs and build up my depth.

Gronk insurance - I'm targeting Rudolph, Jordan Reed, and Tyler Eifert (bumped up due to MJones injury). Figure they should all be serviceable, and available 8th-10th rds in a 10 team league.

I know this strategy might leave me to 'reach' for WRs with a couple of my first 4-5 picks, but I'm OK with that going into the season. I should easily be able to re-draft Dez or Marshall with my first pick. I'm only projecting 2 picks to go before mine (I'll find out for sure on Monday), and I strongly believe one of those picks will be the best available RB on the board.

any final thoughts on this one?
