See ninersickness, there are some people you just can't have a rational discussion with as they lack any sense of reason. Go ahead and defend his positions.
Don't mind if I do (kind of).
By the way, you have a very slippery way of framing ideas that seem to go in a lot of different directions, so I'll try to be concise and on one point at a time.
1. Born Gay? I don't think someone can will his way into being physically attracted to someone. However, almost everyone agrees that choices and experiences (especially at a young age) shape the way people feel sexually. Most people agree that women are typically attracted to men who emulate qualities they wanted to see / experience with their fathers; same thing with sons and mothers. A kid's first exposure to things of a sexual nature have a heavy effect on the things to which they gravitate as adults. People aren't "born" gay, but they also don't arbitrarily decide to be attracted to the same sex. Sucking dick, however, is certainly a choice.
2. Safe Sex? As far as the shorter life discussion goes, ANYONE who consistently practices anal sex (homo or hetero) is far more likely to get an STD than if they practice vaginal sex. Penetrating into human waste with tissue as sensitive and thin as your colon is not "safe" sex; it's an extremely effective way to get all kinds of infections. A condom will help the pitcher of course (which people almost never use consistently), but the catcher is screwed (pun intended) regardless. Not to mention they stretch out their anuses to the point that they often can't have normal bowel movements (which is disgusting and gives me the jibblies just thinking about it).
3. "Studies" And Life Spans. I don't accept any "studies" as the gospel truth about anything in the medical community. I don't ignore them completely, but nobody contradicts themselves more than the medical "studies." Plus, the VAST majority of college studies are done by people with EXTREMELY heavy political slants to the left. At the same time, a lot of the private sector studies are done with a heavy conservative slant, those can be skewed as well. That said, I'm pretty certain that homosexuals live significantly shorter lives than heterosexuals. Most people tend to agree on that point. Could I be wrong about that? Sure; it's possible.
4. Anal sex is not sex? I don't know what the crap (pun intended) that's even supposed to mean.
5. Homophobia. The word homophobia means to be afraid of homosexuals. The way it's used is extremely stupid 99% of the time. I'm sure some psychologist somewhere got a federal grant and claimed to have witnessed all kinds of irrational phobias like consecotaleophobia (fear of chop sticks), or my favourite: hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia (fear of long words

So there you go. I'm sure that was a mouth full.
