Anyone still kinda amused about the game yesterday when colby drilled that shit head Donaldson ? It looked like he walked the guy intentionally in front of Shit Head Donaldson so he could drill him . Colby kept looking over to the dugout . That shit head Donaldson must talk a lot of crap. That was the best part of the game yesterday.

Agreed. That looked very intentional, abd I'm certain it was 1000% deserved. Best part of the game imo.

IMO, perhaps the number one reason why this team needs Lewis in the rotation

I expect the team to do precisely what they did last year with Moreland. Which is, go with him for several months, see if he comes into his own - exactly like they did last year - and then make a decision.

You seem to forget how well he was hitting before he got hurt right before the AS break.

2nd verse same as the 1st. Same story for MM every year. And he had plenty of time to recover. His end of the season numbers were ridiculously bad. Same the year before that.

I'm not defending donaldson, by any stretch of the imagination. But he seems like one of those guys who you love when he plays for you, and hate when he's with someone else. Please see AJP.

He plays hard, runs his mouth and irritates the shit outta ya, plays good d & hits with attitude.

Am I way off base on this prick, but good player?

:agree:.....and this is his last stand with the Rangers. Either he cuts it or he doesn't, and honestly, injuries won't have a barring on it. He either plays to potential or he's someone elses problem come the trading deadline IMO. If he's hurt, I won't care - been there, done this - and it's fish or cut bait with MM.

I'm just telling you what I think the team is going to do with him to start the season.

To hit batters with mid 80's fastball?

Edit: stupid phone.

Darvish said in interview that Lewis and Beltre are leaders in clubhouse, which counts for something, but I don't expect nearly as much from Colby as many here. He was never a world beater, and that was before arm and hip surgeries. Hope I'm wrong bc the team could use an innings eater like him.

Good point , if he was wearing our laundry he'd be my favorite player , but as long as he wears the bird shit green & gold . I'm gonna hate his ass. Pierzinski was always one of my favorite players. Especially when he barreled over Michael Barrett dude has a set of stones.

He had one good year. It's way too early to call him a good player. He's a prick.

I believe the point he was making you're seconding here. And everyone recognizes Lewis' physical limitations, and these are new found limits.

Lewis is a leader in the clubhouse as you mentioned, and therefore, he's showing the rest of the pitching staff there's a time and place to drill some mouthy MF, and to make a statement, as well as, the respect you'll show me and my organization or else there's a price to be paid.

Lewis should be fine, he just has to adjust to his new stride b/c of his hip surgery, once he figures that out, he should be good

I think if you want to shut up a mouthy batter then strike him out, dont give him a free base. Drilling the batter just shows they got under your skin, which is exactly what they're trying to do.

You didn't have an opinion on this guy - either with his baseball abilities or his mouth - until last season did ya? How could you? He's played all of 89 total ML contest until last year. Yet you know he's a prick based on one year, but you won't label him as a good player based on the same one year of evidence.

Like I said, I'm not fan, but let's be somewhat fair here.

The game is on ch 21 locally today @ 1pm . Anyone noticed how very involved Bogar (bench coach ) seems to be ? He calls a lot of defensive shifts, I don't remember Jackie moore being that involved .

Totally disagree. I say again, there's a time and place. Frankly, Lewis had a much better chance of hitting him than striking him out.

If ST isn't a place to set the example then we've got the wrong example setter, and I don't think Colby is anything, if not a standup, lead by example player.

Might want to check game time. I'm showing pre game at 2:30 on ch 21.
