"Choice should be on the team and Moreland shouldn't based on what they have produced so far in ST,.."

That's valid. However, the thing is given Mitch's history and having seen this movie before starring David Murphy ... I'm saying that in the long term there is far more chance that Choice will be a major piece of the action than Mitch's chance ... given that his position has just been given away to Fielder.

I like Mitch ... liked having him arrive when he did to depose that fraud Smoak ... hung in there a couple of seasons but a LH corner bat better be carrying the weight and performance of batting 3rd-cleanup-or 5th ... or he's hurting team output.

If your DH is batting 7th ... then you got the wrong guy as your DH.

How much does that change if Choice is the DH? not much at all, he'd still be hitting 6th or 7th

So you trade Moreland and Choice shits the bed, who does that leave us with?

The question you ought ask yourself is there any reason to believe that Mitch will all of a sudden be carrying a .800 or higher OPS. If not ... then him not being here ought to not be a big deal.

If Choice craps out ... maybe Nick Williams gets the next shot? Who knows. What I do know is that TEX needs a DH who reliably gets hits. Not like MY in other words. Or MM it appears.

Well Moreland gets his last shot this year to show it, if he flounders I'm sure a call is made for Choice to replace him

SO Moreland hits less than a .800 OPS, so it would be better to replace him with guys who might be even worse at this point? solid logic :L

Fielder, Beltre and Choo are hitting ... Mitch (and Murphy) aren't (didn't). Not understanding why you guys can't see that.

Would you like Mitch to be your DH for 2014 and see if he can surpass MY's futility? Then have Wash be loyal to Mitch and have him in the lineup every day batting .176 stinking it up. Like Wash did for MY ... for Berkman ... for Murphy ... despite their futility. It's not like Wash hasn't done that before.

Move Mitch to PIT for a AA and A+ pitcher and move on. Throw E. Beltre in if you want.

Dude , I couldn't agree with you more . You nailed it .

Are you saying that you want to hold onto a guy with a .253 .318 .440 .758 line to be your DH because the guys who might replace him could be worse?

You say that if Moreland really stinks it up ... well then Choice could be called up to replace him. Well ... Murphy stunk things up for 5 months and didn't come out of the daily lineup until mid-September. What's to say that Wash doesn't keep running Mitch out there while he's duplicating every other season? Like Murphy? Like CD? Like MY?

Remember Wash is a very loyal guy. The only way JD got Wash to take MY out of the lineup was to trade him to PHL.

Wash is a one trick pony ... you know exactly what he is going to do without regard to anything analytical. With Mitch you know what you are going to get barring lightening striking on opening day that turns him into the guy CD has turned out to be. But odds are you get the guy with the slash above. With Choice ... you don't know what you will get ... TRUE ... but there is a better chance he's going to have a better slash line than Mitch's slash line than the odds of Mitch having a better slash line than Mitch's slash line.

If Choice tanks after you moved Moreland ... well all you are out is a .253 .318 .440 .758 hitter for which you got a couple of minor league pitchers in exchange for.

I'd do that deal in 10 seconds if it was there ... if for no reason other than to take a dull knife out of Wash's hands that he will run out there every game until mid-September.

Maybe Morales hangs around until mid season too. He could be a good acquisition at the right price after the QO penalty passes.

Think we will see Murphy tomorrow?

With is .192 .276 .308 .584 line I wonder if CLE announcers will spin it saying how Murphy always starts slow for about a month or so and then gets torrid.

That's exactly what I'm saying, he's actually hit at the ML level, Choice hasn't proven anything til he does, hold onto Moreland, I can't do anything about Wash's fanatical dedication to stupidity

Til then Moreland's .758 is still better than Choice's .649

It's not a matter of if..... The only question is when???? I hope he's on a short leash. The guy is weakest link on the team.

I expect the team to do precisely what they did last year with Moreland. Which is, go with him for several months, see if he comes into his own - exactly like they did last year - and then make a decision.

You seem to forget how well he was hitting before he got hurt right before the AS break.

Exactly. Strange he doesn't apply the same logic to other injured players that aren't playing up to expectations. All of them have to have time to fully recover if they can. If not decisions will be made accordingly.

Anyone still kinda amused about the game yesterday when colby drilled that shit head Donaldson ? It looked like he walked the guy intentionally in front of Shit Head Donaldson so he could drill him . Colby kept looking over to the dugout . That shit head Donaldson must talk a lot of crap. That was the best part of the game yesterday.

I think slapping a label on what Moreland is...is a big mistake
