Exactly.

And I try not to ever lose sight of the fact the players hire this guy, not the other way around. I'm sure he drives a tough bargain when trying to sign a player; just like he does when representing that same player to teams.

I think that's his job description.

I would find it easier to dislike him if he steered FA's away from us, but since he doesn't I don't have a major problem with him.

Ya know, I'm not so sure that Boras and JD aren't made from the same piece of cloth. Honestly, I could see the 2 of them sitting down and making sense of it all; agree or agree to disagree, whichever came first.

I don't think he'll be in the opening day line-up either, although at this point he deserves it. Something tells me this kid is going to be good. I liked his size, speed, and swing the first time I saw him play.

Michael Choice has sure made things interesting and a heck of a case can be made for him to make the big club.

But for me, I really think he/we would be better served, long term, if he went to AAA and played somewhere everyday. If he's played so well, that he's forced himself onto the big club then so be it. Just would like to see him work on his power, and get comfortable with all 3 OF spots and not have to do this while facing the best pitchers on the planet.

been wrong many times but I see no way Choice doesn't make the big club with who is in camp at this time.

I think you're probably right. I just think it would be better off he started in AAA. Almost wish we had a spot for him to play in the outfield every day.

I understand the more AB's for a younger player always is best for continued development. I also think you take your best possible team for the big club. I think the GM determines the fringe players in situations like this where options have expired.

Doesn't effect us directly. I just hate to see such a young, talented player to have this kind of problem so early in his career is all. He's a true joy to watch play when healthy.

Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado may not be ready for Opening Day after experiencing a setback in his surgically repaired knee, manager Buck Showalter said.

Machado has not appeared in a game this spring and was scheduled to undergo an exam Tuesday on his knee. But the 21-year-old has been hampered by scar tissue in the knee and has not resumed running, prompting the Orioles to postpone his medical appointment.

I'm all for Choice being up with the big club as long as they find a way to work him in the lineup regularly

With Martin and Moreland possibly sitting against some LHPs that gives Choice several opportunities to get the ABs there and with getting guys in the OF some rest there's some ABs there as well

I could see Choice putting together the kinds of seasons Murphy used to get (ABs wise; 400-500) between injuries and rest and time against LHPs and I'm totally OK with that,

The wild card is Wash, if he gets stuck in his ways about something and Choice is on the bench 5 days a week, it makes ZERO sense to have him with the big club

I agree that he will have to get his ABs for it to work. And after last year I was done with Moreland and I have tried to be upbeat about him being the DH but I am still not sold on it. And I would much rather see Choice out in the OF giving guys a spell instead of Mitch.
