It gets brought up all the time and I personally don't see what the hell is so special about it that people even bring it up to start with.

People bring it up because it is actually funny. The last time that UF played outside the state of FL in an OOC game UF got crushed in it. 38-21. Since then no OOC games outside the state of FL. Thanks a lot Syracuse for ruining some potentially good OOC games to watch.

The yearly game with FSU is great, but the 3 other Bullshit OOC games they have are not cool. This is why people bring this up. Yes UF plays UGA, LSU, TN(When good), Scar, and sometimes Bama(Not very often). The problem is that you also have KY, Vandy, Ole Miss, and the 3 cupcake OOC games.

This is all I will say about this. Not trying to argue or anything like that. Just giving you what many outside of the SEC see. Especially when you have LSU, Bama, and TN playing games against other top named programs OOC.

It ain't SU's fault. I go to the Dome all the time. Spurrier's the one that put an end to traveling out of the state.

When FSU brings their sorry asses to the Dome....they won't want to come back either.

Show me where I have said that Florida has not played tough schedules. That's right, I didn't. I thought it was an interesting FACT that UF has not played an OOC game outside of the state of Florida since 1991. All of you that are trying to argue this FACT by coming up with SOS links obviously can't tell the difference between a FACT and an opinion.

What does what you said about Florida's schedule have to do with anything I said? I pointed out that Florida plays one of the top schedule out there (plus one of the tougher non-conference road schedules) but some idiots complain that they don't cross an imaginary line. It's stupid.

Travelling to different time zones, cultural, climatic, and and even altitude changes are tough to deal with.

Heading a few miles up the road to play FSU (where 30% of the fans are gator fans) is not quite the same.

And playing there over and over again....a team and coaches learn all the nuances of the stadium
It doesn't seem like a strange and unknown field if you always play there every other year.

You don't get surprised by freakish winds, sunlight angles, crowd noise, and other things that a home team has in their favor.

There is a reason that superior west coast teams sometimes fail when they play an early game on the east coast in September versus weaker teams.

The time change and humidity can really make it a hostile road game.

Just listen to them cry likke little girls about the conference THEY chose to join. Waaaaa, scar is good this year, boohoo UGa is tough this season. But, that is understandable when teams like ga southern are too tough to beat.

I actual feel sorry for the Florida fans, going to Atlanta to play Clemson and VT twice along with the Jerry Dome to play Michigan was a lot of fun and I hope Bama continues to schedule these type of games. Florida fans are really missing out on some great games, in different venues and the chance to interact with different fan bases.

I feel sorry for the fans paying top dollar to see their team play Div 1-AA teams like Citadel & Georgia Southern and go on to lose to them..:laugh3:

Are you prepare to back that up with facts? The winning percentage of major schools that travel 100-200 miles is fairly similar to winning percentages of major schools that travel 1000 or more miles. I've yet to see anybody back up that theory.

#1 this ignores the fact the SEC schedule IS NOT uniform and that UF has played MORE SEC teams that ended the season ranked than LSU, Alabama or Tenn have played. #2) It ignores the fact that in OOC games (excluding bowl games) UF has played 7 Top 10 teams and 15 Top 25 teams while: Tenn has played 5 Top 10 and 9 Top 25 teams, Alabama has played 3 Top 10 and 6 Top 25 teams, and LSU has played 2 Top 10 and 5 Top 25 teams. Including bowl games, UF has played 14 Top 10 teams and 27 Top 25 teams while: Tenn has played 9 Top 10 and 18 Top 25 teams, LSU has played 7 Top 10 and 17 Top 25 teams, and Alabama has played 8 Top 10 and 13 Top 25 teams.

As you said, "Not trying to argue or anything like that." but, you call UF's OOC "Bullshit" yet seem to ignore the fact that FSU has played the EXACT same number of FCS opponents as UF has over the "BCS era" and IF you wish to extend the span then FSU has played MORE FCS teams than UF.

You also glossed over the fact that FSU in OOC games has played ONE top 10 team outside the state of Florida since 1993 (OU in 2010) and only two ranked teams outside the state of Florida (BYU in 2009 and OU in 2010). The remainer (like Florida) are against IN-State rivals.

You make a point of UF playing KY, Vandy, and Ole Miss, now how about FSU?
In the BCS era FSU has played 81 IN-conference games (out of 132 In-conference games) against teams that didn't have winning IN-Conference records while UF has only played 72 out of 133 games against teams that didn't have winning IN-Conference records. There is also the fact UF has played 37 SEC teams that ended the season with 10 or more wins while FSU has played only 17 ACC teams that ended the season with 10 or more wins.

I think that in the interest of fairness, I think people who throw out stats about UF should also post the same stats for their own team for comparison. Peace.

BOO FUCKING HOO!!! UF gets the shaft on who they play in conference. Too fucking bad. Quit using it as a crutch and go the fuck out of state. Damn you Gators are a bunch of pussies when someone tells you a FACT that you do not go out of state.

Know your facts there little one. FSU has played more than two ranked teams outside the state of FL in OOC play. Unless you are going by end of year rankings(which you probably are o prop up your argument). Let me educate you on a couple of points you tried to make.

1. I started off by saying what "People outside of the SEC see". -1 point for you for not understanding the perception.

2. UF has played 1 more than FSU. UF had played 10(Including a LOSS!). FSU had played 9.

3. You trying to use the luxury of your SEC schedule to prop up your OOC schedule. It does not work that way. The fact is that besides FSU every year and Miami (whenever UF doesn't puss out) UF plays nobody out of state period.

4. In the BCS era FSU has played Home and Home with ND, OU, BYU. Who has UF played OOC against outside the state of FL? Nobody.

5. Yes I called their OOC schedule Bullshit because when you look at other SEC tams scheduling games out of their state it begs the question. Why doesn't UF do this?

6. Perception is reality. To many people UF plays nobody OOC except FSU and all of their games are either AT UF or at FSU. Not a really difficult thing to understand.

I don't really see the big deal here. They do play about the same SOS (give or take) than everybody else.

Kudos to Miami for accepting all takers though. They'll play anybody anywhere. Just sign here.

Ok, I’ll give you the OCC with UF. But please don’t belittle our SEC schedule when you play in that powerhouse ACC football conference. Please, Clemson and Miami right? I mean name another school that is a national contender in the ACC, and don’t start spouting Duke cause they’re a flash in the pan. I think you can put the frosting on the cake here with UF’s overall SOS. Like I said, OCC you are correct, but I’ll put my school’s overall SOS up against anyone’s and that includes the Florida State Clown School. Pick an era, I bet we clobber you guys in SOS anytime you’d like to look.

Nowhere did I belittle the SEC schedule. Just do not try and use it as a crutch is all I said.

And I am speaking only of OOC. Which at least you acknowledged. Thank you for that.

These particular two people cannot stand when a act goes against the Gators.

I will gladly let you call FSU a clown college or girl school. I will use a correct one though.

State Champs and National Champs.

In regard to your shot at the ACC. I am not a conference homer. The ACC is not the conference I would like FSU to be in, but it is where they are at. Can only work with what they have.

I believe that the 90's would be very similar in SOS for both FSU and UF. FSU played more ranked teams than many people thought during that decade. I think we went over this at Disney a couple of times an it surprised you how many ranked teams FSU played. Too lazy to look this stuff up because in the nd I really does not matter. The thread was about OOC and you have admitted that which is outstanding. That is why you and another person on here are my favorite Gator fans(if possible). At least ou admit things instead of turning the thread into shit.
