I'm sure they're just using it as a figure of speech. I think most people know what a thug is. And the word thug doesn't just represent blacks.

Since the most powerful "thugs" in America are white, for instance Whitey Bulger, Domenico Cefalu and the list goes on.

Just get tired of the constant calls of racism

This guy is not a gangbanger who commited many crimes and have been arrested several times. He is far from a thug.

I agree that a lot of the comments he is getting are unfair, and teh use of teh word thug does have racist overtones.

But he is not exactly a saint. He really does run his mouth a lot.

The word, "Thug" comes from the word, "Thuggie" which was used to describe criminals that used to mug and murder people after first joining their group.

So.....if anyone has a case that it's a racial slur, it's the Indians.

What exactly did he do that was thuggish? He's really not wrong. People see loud, obnoxious black man and start calling him a thug just like you are. People need a better word than thug. How many people has he beaten up? Threatened? Killed? Has he ever hurt a fly outside of the gridiron? Has he robbed anyone? Raped anyone? So please, PLEASE tell me what makes him a thug? If this was JJ Watt or Clay Matthews no one would be calling him a thug. Whether you agree with what he said or not, calling him a thug is just ignorant.
