Board Organization Vote

Does the community prefer board to be organized with

multiple threads stuck to the top of the page as it currently is

or

linking those threads from a single thread stuck to the top of the page ?

I like stickies for Smacktalk, off topic, and visitors where they are, not as a link.

The rest I'm ambivalent towards. But then again, a "clean" board is of little importance to me. Super long threads are laborious to me, but Im happy to go with majority rule. I actually like shorter threads that discuss a specific player or thought that is current, and eventually gets dropped as time passes, but that's just me.

just want to make sure ... you know we have the option in the settings to view threads with newest post first ?

I notice alot of people referencing posts being "above" ... where to me the posts are "below"

also, with ongoing threads like the smacktalk, name debate etc, i'm able to get caught up with the conversation by working my way up the first page.

At the same time if anyone wants to reference something someone posts 6 or 16 months ago, its all contained all one place for easy access... no looking through multiple threads.

I've noticed how other boards where they have different volumes for threads.

example : once the name debate thread reaches X number of posts they start a new vol #2, #3, etc

or in this boards case: we might have different volumes based on different seasons

example: Smacktalk 2012, smacktalk 2013 etc ... RG3 2012, RG3 2013 etc

I don't know. Linking multiple threads in a single sticky thread kind of defeats the purpose of a sticky thread if. The purpose of the sticky is to keep the topics that can be discussed over a long length of time on the front page. This is so it doesn't get posted over, moved off the front page, and lost in the shuffle.

Do whatever is easiest for the mods to keep it organized.

that is what we are trying to find out

i want to serve the posters not dictate to them

if you guys like it the ways it is , i can certainly see you point as i can see the other view

but vote for what you want and dont worry about what other posters feel

I personally don't like any stickies. Let threads live, and die, on their own merits. I can see the trash talking thread as a sticky and maybe the off topic thread, but, IMO, we have way too may stickies that just don't get updated all that often. I'm not sure why we try and regulate the threads so much, either in how the live or even the content added to them. Short of trash talking, I think each thread should be allowed to take the course the contributors want to take it. Just my opinion.......

I didn't vote because my option would have been neither. It is 4 stickies only: smacktalk, visitors, redskins links and off topic.

I'm not overly protective of that however, and can go with the flow with whatever majority wants.

i want what the posters want . i think a lot of espn's arent interested in cleaning up the board . they want the threads to run their course

others like the convenience of getting to threads all in one area and not sift thru played out threads

if i do sticky's i think i will only keep the vistors thread and the smack talk and the blogs and resource one and do away with the rest as far as sticky's are concerned and let those threads simply play out

but i want what the posters want

I'm open to other options/suggestions ... not sure what they are though.

but then we started talking about sticky threads, which the majority, who have voted in this poll, have said they want to keep.

Extremeskins cleans up their board and it sucks. You have to go through 11 and 12 pages off comments to find the one you were actually involved in.


Let the threads run their course and die.


If it's a thread people are really interested in they will keep it at the top by commenting.


There is a huge difference between a thread that reads "RG3" and a threat that reads "RG3's lack of book study."
