I know being undefeated and #2 in the nation hardly is the typical "upset" underdog.

2005 USC was viewed like 1995 Nebraska or 2001 Miami prior to kickoff.
2 Heismans
34 game win streak longest in NCAA history
ranked #1 for nearly 3 years
playing in their homefield in LA
fresh memories of 55-19 last time someone dared challenge them

2005 USC had a professionally done half hour show with 10 episodes ESPN special all bowl season long comparing them to the greatest college teams ever assembled.

Some of the most respected minds in college football would weigh in on the greatness of 2005 USC for 30 minutes each day.

So, yes it was an EPIC UPSET pulled off by the #2 ranked team in the country.

Man I won money on that game! I told everyone Texas was going to win but I was laughed at! Was a really good game too btw. :suds:

The 5 times the Beavers beat #1 USC in Corvallis, starting with the 67' "GIANT KILLERS" that took down OJ Simpson's squad 3-0 in a mudfest coached by the "Great Pumpkin" Dee Andros.

Sprinkle in Dennis Erickson's Beaver squad that destroyed Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl in the early 90's too and finished the season probably as the best team in the Nation, but finished ranked #3.

So what I've gathered from this thread is ND, Texas, Nebraska, and A&M's biggest wins have all come against OU.

No, it was OU in the Fiesta Bowl. That game put you guys in the map. No one watched the games against Oregon.

BSU fan has a point. I don't think people realize how average that OU team was. After Mack Brown and Texas choked away the Big 12 title big time by losing to shitty teams in KSU and Aggy at the end of the year, OU backdoored their way into the Big 12 CCG and went on to beat the weak as fuck Big 12 North chump, er champ (which was Nebraska) that year. I wasn't surprised BSU beat up on the Sooners, they had no business being in that Fiesta Bowl.

Short and sweet, the title pretty much sets the stage.

What is the biggest upset your homer team can give forth.

Link

[North Alabama] is the last Division II team to beat a Division I-A (FBS) team, beating Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette) on October 11, 1997.[1] The Lions won 48-42 after going to 4 OT's.

You've gathered wrong. I haven't seen one Texas fan post upsetting OU anytime as our biggest win or upset. Texas has been beating down the Sooners for decades and vice versa. Maybe for Aggy. Anyway, I would say the '05 BCS title game against "The greatest college football team ever" according to ESPN and every other expert out there. The other would have been against #3 Nebraska in the inaugural Big 12 CCG. Unranked and 4 loss Texas raped the shit out of the vaunted Blackshirt defense and Texas QB James Brown guaranteed Texas would win by 2 scores and everybody thought he was crazy, including Texas fans. This prevented NU from winning 3 consecutive NC's. Nebraska realized that game they were no longer in the Big 8 and finally had competition outside of Norman, OK for the 1st time in like 60 years.

I didn't see the criteria for this was "biggest upset that put your school on the map and had the highest viewership." It was a magical season for us resulting in our first BCS berth, and most BSU fans were confident that BSU could take down OU. OTOH, heading into Auzten with many unknowns and a RS Freshman QB.......not many BSU fans thought we had a chance. That's why it felt like a bigger upset to this guy.

Don't know how a fan from one team can answer this question for another.

Didn't we beat Bama in Bama early 2000s?

Yea yall beat bama in 2000. That was a pretty terrible bama team i think we only won like 2 or 3 games. For sure that team was most dissapointing team possibly in cfb history. Had almost everyone back off an sec championship team the year before started preseason number 3 and we were terrible

I was at that game you fucking assholes............ ruined our season - no not over it. Buckeyes were winning late in the 3rd quarter I think 23-9 and ........

Cooper actually went on to win out beating michigan and winning the bowl game. would've been Nchamps......

:L:bawling:
I don't know, Tennessee always found a way to win every game that season.
