Sorry bro. Your team sucks and is on a fast track to nowhere. By the time that ship is righted AP will be a broken down has been. May already be happening:

Adrian Peterson of Minnesota Vikings dealing with hamstring issue - ESPN

Currently he's 7th in rushing. Maybe I'm already overrating his value. Like I said, the shelf life for an NFL RB is just too short and AP may be near the end of his. If he stays with the Vikings he'll have played his last best days with a team going nowhere. Shame.

The Chiefs were a dumpster fire last year. Do you think they should have traded Charles?

:agree: Looks like the Vikings just need a serviceable QB, of course they knew they needed one after last year and still did nothing about it, so :noidea:

Pioli almost did trade him to the Redskins for a 4th rounder in 2009 believe it or not...

Edit: I am pretty sure it was the '09 season anyways.

His talents are being wasted on that crap team. They should trade him to some contender for their entire draft and then start over. The shelf life of an NFL RB is jus too short to not think like this. They should get all they can for him while he's still a valuable commodity. And give AP the chance to win something. He's not going to win crap in Minnesota.

He almost (and should have but that's another discussion) went to the SB with the Vikes in 09.

How can one say they will never build up to that status again? Quite simply, you can't.

Trading AP would basically indicate that the Roster is incapable of contending with a QB. I don't think the roster for the Vikings is so bad to even remotely consider trading AP in any serious capacity.

The NFL is a quick turnaround league, so if the Vikings are smart they can get it back going relatively quickly. Although, I'm not sure I'd trust that front office to find a quarterback, Christian Ponder was a desperate draft pick, Matt Cassell wasn't a great signing, and signing Josh Freeman and then starting him so quickly also screamed of desperation. Minnesota's saving grace is this a good year for quarterbacks in the draft.

The question is, how many more truly great years does Adrian Peterson have left? And, if they were to trade Peterson, is what they'll get in return good enough to counter his loss, and to help them rebuild their franchise? AP is 28, I believe, taking on a running back at that age, and giving up a lot for him, it's a major risk for whoever the Vikings would be trading him to. Just not sure it's worth it.

Why trade AP? Grab a good QB in the draft and all of the sudden you are talking about winning the division and contending WITH AP again. Do people really think the roster for the Vikings is so bad that trading AP makes sense? If you have such a low confidence level in finding a good QB , and talent in general, then fire the GM along with Frazier who should be fired ASAP anyways.

Edit: If AP was on Jacksonville, I would 100% be on board with trading AP, but he isn't on the Jags...

That's exactly why you trade him. You make it seem like it's no big thing to get a good QB in the draft; the success rate is very low. And even if they did pick a good prospect, it usually takes many years for them to reach their potential; by that time AP's career is winding down.

I always wondered why he would sign a long term $100 million contract with them and not look to go somewhere where he could get a chance at a ring.

The problem with Minnesota is that they have holes at qb, on the O line, lb, secondary and most of their D line starters are free agents next year including Allen who I don't think will be back with the team as well as a few other players up for free agency. Trading AP would give you a few draft picks to shore up some of those holes and have a more complete team without needing a top tier rb. Even at 28 I'm quite sure there will be a couple of teams that would be willing to take him on.

I am well aware that it is very low, that is what you pay good GM's to do, picking Ponder was an obvious desperation move. Odds are the Vikings will get to draft either Mariota or Hundley right now. Those two are pretty good QB prospects that could potentially make an instant impact in my personal opinion, but I suppose we will have to agree to disagree.

Trading Peterson would be the Humane thing to do.

Also I was thinking the 49ers would trade their entire draft...and gore.

And the Vikings roster is bad enough to trade it all.

Other teams I could see that it would make sense: Patriots, Broncos and maybe the Saints. All of them could then move some RBs for either draft picks or a couple of other pieces.

Other GMs that seem dumb enough to: Matt Millen

The only teams i see as potential buy-ins for Peterson are:

1. NY Jets
2. Carolina Panthers
3. NE Patriots
4. Dallas cowboys

all other teams i do not think it is worth it...

And 2 of those teams that i think are best fits might not even make the playoffs...

I hope one of the NFC linebackers hits this dickhead so hard they knock his balls out through his nose. This would solve his procreation problem at least.
