All around a lousy outing today by our Broncos. Right now it's 35-19, and I think that speaks to the disparity in talent between these two teams. The level of play this team has shown today, mistakes, turnovers, etc will usually get you beat and badly. And the Broncos still have plenty of opportunities to blow this one, but I'm hoping the defense will have woken up. Their last two series have been better.

Well Knowshons 3rd and that should probably do it, but damn Jacksonville came to play. I've been saying it all week that all this 28 point spread talk would have them fired up. Manning ended up playing a solid game though and the defense finally stepped up. 6-0.....on to Indy

At this point i can't say I agree. Manning threw a pick-six and fumbled two snaps. His turnovers have contributed to 9 Jaguars points. He had a bad game, and it happens.

With so much time left I'm not ready to call it a win.

Yah.....you're right. Maybe it wasn't Manning's best game.

Yeah, he certainly is. What bothers me is how far away from him our defensive backs seem to be. You know they're coming his way. Don't you think maybe someone should cover him?

He's human. Everyone is. This team is beatable. They saw that last week against a decent offense in Dallas. But I think it will resonate more this week, at home against a winless team that sports the worst offense in the league.

And one of the worst defenses, too. You turn the ball over, even against a bad team and you risk the game.

You do have to credit the Jags on some level, too. They got up for this game. I feel like the Broncos played down to a degree, but the Jags played their best game of the season. That's the way it's going to be all season long from here on in. Teams are going to get up for the Broncos. They need to realize this because not every opponent is as inept as the Jaguars.

I think they know this. We'll see.

I dont think the Colts will be up fpr the Broncos considering they know they are a very good team. This defense has a tons of work to do.

I think they'll be up to play their old QB, who will be bringing in an undefeated team. The Colts have very quietly put together a great season, and that team can definitely give the Broncos some problems. The Broncos can't make the same mistakes they've made the last two weeks. If their defense doesn't shape up they are going to need to be flawless on offense against good teams on the road like the Colts.

Well, a win is a win. I'm happy to see the team sitting at 6-0, but the Jags made them earn that one. They shot themselves in the foot a few times on offense, and on defense allowed the Jags one of their better performances of the season. I hope Woodyard is back next week, and of course getting Miller back will hopefully help on defense as well.

Ugly win, but ugly wins are better than losses.

Not many players from the Colts there from when Manning was there. I dont see it as a big deal. For a #1 seed down the road is more important then Manning coming back to Indy. Denver wants it to stay in 1st place but I get where you are coming from.

It was not Mannings best game because he planned it that way... He game Moreno every chance to score when he would usually just pass it in instead.... this is perfect it shows balance but rest assured against a much better Colts team he will be passing more often and attacking once again.

I'm actually going to say they don't cover and this ends up being a 35-10 game. I think between Blackmon, Shorts and MJD, one of those dudes is gonna get in the end zone.

I also think Manning only plays maybe through the 3rd quarter and has a rather pedestrian game for him going something like 28-38 318 yards and 3 TD's. We'll get close, but 28 really is an insane point spread.

I don't think he planned the 3 turnovers he was involved in. Nor do I believe he "gave Moreno every chance to score" either. That long stint inside the JAX 1 yard line was totally screwed up by Manning. Instead of sticking to the run, he tried to pass it for the TD. Only Jaguars incompetence allowed us to finally score (on a run, BTW). We could have had that TD several plays before it actually happened if he was willing to keep it on the ground. But no. And to make it worse, Franklin got hurt when he should have already been off the field.

This was a sloppy game by the Broncos. They didn't take JAX seriously and it showed. We gained a measily 84 rushing yards against a team that's giving up well over 150 per game. This isn't due to lack of talent, it's due to lack of trying. Our offensive running game averaged over 4 yards per carry (and I'm purposely excluding the special teams run). We should have been following Sharpe's advice all along and "Run them out of the Cover 2". He and the announcers nailed it. Manning wasn't patient enough and he made mistakes as a result. The fumbles were also Ramirez's fault, but I was ticked off when Manning just stood there looking at the second fumble while JAX recovered it ON THE JAGS 5 YARD LINE!!!! This was the first game where I was really ticked off at Manning and the play calling. Made Manning look very selfish, whether he actually was or not.

We survived mainly because of the incompetence by the Jaguars. We should have literallt run them out of the stadium, but instead we got cute, we took them lightly, and very nearly lost the game. Here's the BIG question this raises though. What happens now when we face the Colts of the Chiefs? Will they be able to take advantage of Manning's lack of patience and beat us? I certainly hope Elway and Co. have a long heart to heart with Manning (and Gase too). The ONLY good takeaways from this game were A) It's a win, B) Our Defense only allowed 13 points, and C) Our Defense only allowed 224 yards passing.

WalkerBoh I understand your frustration and definitely agree with most of it. I thought yesterday's game was one that we should have run it and run it some more and just been happy to get out of the game as quick as possible with a win. Honestly I didn't expect the Broncos to cover the spread and could care less about that whole thing as a win is a win.

This was one of the few games that I really thought our team just didn't look like they had any fire in them. I understand it is hard to keep up the high level of excitement over the full course of a season and every once in a while you are going to have a let down so I guess we should be thankful that this happened against the Jags who even when we have our worst game beat by 16 points.

Right now I am still holding out judgment on how this team is going to do the rest of the way as we finally get Von back (heard he has been training like crazy during the suspension and is in even better shape than he was last year), Woodyard and Ayers should return from injury so the Colts game is the first time we actually have almost all of our pieces on defense. My guess is it will take some time for them to all gel as we saw Champ struggle some yesterday knocking the rust off but this is not the time of year for them to be peaking anyway.

All in all the Broncos won the game and hopefully Franklin is ok...that is my only concern today actually about this past game. Can't keep losing guys.

I am with you guys on the run issue. I really expected the Broncos to use this week to really work out their run game. Look at my bold prediction on the other thread. I feel they may have missed an opportunity to work out some kinks on that part of the game.

A win is a win, but that game left us all a little dissatisfied in the team's performance. They need to get it together because the Colts are a legit opponent. A performance like that against the Colts is going to lead to a loss.

I thought that was odd initially too...but when I thought about it, I thought- why would Manning jump into that fray and risk potential injury for something that ultimately didn't really matter. who knows, maybe it would have been different if the game was on the line.

Who knows, but I have to say, it's very unlikely Elway loses that ball in the same situation. I could definitely see him jumping on that as fast as he could.
