Martin could be playing himself out of the lineup which could force the Rangers to go after both Choo and Cruz with Choo playing CF, Cruz in RF and Rios in LF

I would be okay with that but Martin does an outstanding arm. Some of those assists he had last year fall into the incredible category. His problem at the plate is he does not have a good eye. He cannot lay off of the bad stuff especially inside.

The Rangers would not bring in Choo to play CF and Rios has played 1 game in LF while Cruz has played 55, why would Rios be the one going to LF?

I've been away lately because I am visiting family in maryland, but I am extremely concerned over Leonys winter stats. He's hitting .190 right now... I think we'll sign choo and all, but we're gonna have a lineup with soto, leonys, mitch, and profar in it. Not very much production down there at all whatsoever

I said a few pages back, as of right now....Martin is concerning. Doesn't mean he won't improve of course, but it's not something you like to see

The Yankees just signed Brian Roberts to play second base. There goes connects Cincinnati's hopes of a salary dump with Phillips. Choo's market is drying up.

I hope Texas doesn't put too much stock in winter league stats. I think Leonys is locked in at CF

Choo is an awful cf.

no argument but if Martin can't get near the Mendoza line at the plate then he will hurting the team. he's hitting less than .200 against mostly AA, AAA and a few ML'ers, what will he do against all ML pitching. at least Choo is an adequate CF who can hit. wish we still had Gentry at least he can hit

with his total collapse toward the end of last season and with his performance in winter ball they better

I'm fairly certain Choo would play right and Rios could move to LF, either way I guess, but no way they put Choo in Center, if we sign him

Well, if he does fall off the map, we're in trouble. Rios would have to move to Center, Choo to Right...and the Rook to left

if we get Choo

Because of the difference in arm strength. Rios has an average arm. You guys are right though, Choo would not be brought in to play center field. I do think if Cruz is brought it in without Choo that Cruz would play RF

I didn't get to read the entire Olney piece about Trout bc I'm not an insider, but in the beginning there is an interesting stat.

Most times on base in 2012-2013

1. Trout 564
2. Migs 562
3. Choo 556
4. Prince 542
5. McCutchen/Votto 541

I was surprised to see Prince so high on the list. And, Choo coupled with Prince at the top of the lineup would give Beltre and friends tons of chances to knock in runs. As teddy KGB says 'pay that man his money'

But, good lord, Trout has been a fucking machine. Putting up a Bonds-like 20.1 WAR last two seasons...what's more impressive is that it's his first 2 seasons. Incredible. LAA will regret not extending him last year.
