Really? Robbase is the only one making sense here. He would be lucky to get one with NE without all his HOF receivers. Its amazing how many excuses people make for Peyton. Dude is simply overrated. No way he is better than Brady, and him even being mentioned as a GOAT is just ludicrous.

1. He still would have beat Rex Grossman. But he would have gone one and done all the other times just like he always has no matter what team he's played for. That's all on him and no amount of coaching or defenses changes it.

The funny thing about his playoff run that year is that he had more INTs than TDs and I believe a 66 passer rating. Dude just cannot play in the postseason.

I can agree that Manning would have gone on to great things in a Pat's uniform.

Would he have been better then Brady?

Not sure. I tend to think not but he is a awesome player so perhaps.

More inaccurate absolute statements about Manning from you. Rob. You're hopeless when it comes to him, aren't you?

One and dones with two teams, Colts and Broncos.

This is the scene on this board. It's like Obama but it's Hammer. Just is what it is. Wait until playoffs. Then it's gonna get wild.

His career playoff rating is higher than Brady's. Just saying.

Not true.

Sorry to be the one that has to break it to you, but Manning has never played for the Patriots, so opinions on how he would perform for them can't be anything but hypothetical. :L

And? He has personally lost more than his share of games. I don't care if he throws 12 touchdowns against the chiefs in the wildcard round.

It's getting to the point of making me never want to hear, or read, the name "Peyton Manning" again.

ENOUGH, ALREADY!

Depends. What team is Brady on? If you simply remove Brady and add Peyton to the Patriots....hmm...

He probably doesn't win the Tuck Rule game. (-1)
But he also probably makes the playoffs the next year.
He would win 03-04 for sure. 06 and 07 as well. (+2)
Brady and Peyton both missed a season so thats a push.
Im guessing Peyton would win one of these 'almost' seasons the Pats have had in the past couple (+1)

5 would be my guess but he probably would've contended for 7-8 if Brady wasnt there

If Peyton had been drafted by the Patriots, he would have been traded to the Raiders and never lost ANY playoff games......

Surrounded by the greatness they had in New England? They'd have won every year with Manning.

Yeah, the greatness at wide reciever? They've had one great reciever for 2 years. Not only that, you would half to assume that Belichick would run the Colts offense and let Peyton coach the team like he did in Indy. He would have to conform and stop throwing picks in critical situations.

Defensively!

If NE could have upgraded at QB and had THAT defense? SB every season.

That's a downgrade at QB so the Pats might only have won one of their 5 Super Bowl appearances with Manning instead of Brady.

Can you imagine Peyton Manning trying to lead The Pats down the field in that blizzard against Oakland in 2001? With those wobbly ducks he puts up for grabs? No way. Peyton wouldn't have even made it to the AFC Championship in 2001, taking over the team that was previously 5-13 with Bledsoe.

Brady's been to 5 Superbowls in 11 years as a starter. Peyton's been to 2 in 13 years as a starter. And he had some help from his so-called "garbage defense," because he tried to throw it away like he always does, with 7 interceptions.

Peyton wouldn't have marched The Pats down the field multiple times, with completion after completion in that snowstorm. Not outdoors. Not with that wind swirling. Not with the pressure of a big game. No way.

So there's one less, right there.

Manning2LuckisJealous will be here soon enough to call tell me I have an inferiority complex, because he's a great mimicker. I used to tell him that he had one, and apparently he thought it was clever.

Another point Peyton lovers never account for. Peyton played the majority of his games in a dome without elements.
