Clearly you are not aware of Aggie jokes and their popularity. There is no paradigm shift occurring.

No, i dont invest my time listening to Texas politics or football politics. But I do know that if Texas doesnt do something and A&M keeps its spot among the top 10, while Texas is lucky to break top 25, this shift can and will occur, it will take years, but it can and will happen.

Those are all reasonable points, but you can say the same or maybe even better for most of them with Texas.

1. Texas is and always has been top dog in the State. Agreed, there is more in state competition, but we are top dog.
2. History and pipeline to the NFL are among the nation's best at both schools.
3. I would argue the facilities are even better at Texas than Bama, though both are great.
4. Austin is one of the coolest places on earth. I've been all over, and it is about as good as you can get.
5. Also in Austin you have no state tax.
6. Out of state recruiting is a pain. In Texas you can stay home and still get the country's best. Having to go out of state could be viewed as a disadvantage.
7. SEC is a great conference and on top of the college world right now, no doubt. But football is a way of life in Texas as well.
8. Texas can offer more money, with less taxes.

Now, with all that being said - I don't think Saban would leave Bama. If I'm starting from scratch, I chose Texas. If I am sitting in Saban's shoes, I stay at Bama. However, there is at least reason for Bama fans to worry.

Bama and oregon are WAAAAY ahead of everyone else in this dept!

Charlie called, he said Fuck Florida. He also stated you had your chance and blew it, so eat shit.

I highly doubt he would turn down a job offered from FL.. you may like to think that .. but doubtful.. its definitely a step up from UL .. and it's the SEC

It was a joke, lighten up KT. Florida brain trust is going to suffer through a couple of more years of Muschamp before they cut him loose.

Yet there are people on this board that thinks he'd turn down an offer from Texas.

The fact Charlie could never even get an interview in the SEC may bother him though. Word was that him having a white wife was a problem with a few schools. No, I'm not kidding.

That's rather fucked up.

While those two are some of the best, there's several other schools that have really nice shit right there with Bama en sech. It doesn't look like the improvements are slowing down any at Bama though and is really gonna help in recruiting.

Yeah this was from a journalist I know. The discussion was why did it take this long for Strong to get a shot at being an HC. He's won NCs in two conferences as a DC and has been one of the best for years. This discussion happened right after Mullen got a HC job and Strong didn't even get a phone call.

I've always been a big fan of Strong, dude can coach and seems to go about it the right way as far as I can tell.

Yeah why leave for UF when he can continue to lose BCS games and not get fired at OU. Duh.

Tell me how Florida did in the bcs bowl last year again?

I don't think Muschamp even considers the Texas job, unless Texas offer him insane levels of cash. To me the Texas job is at best a lateral move from Florida.

Let's just look at a couple of facts. Muschamp would need to rebuild at Texas. I'm not saying he's built Florida into what he wants it to be, yet. But, Florida is ahead of Texas. Either way you're going to be coaching in a talent rich area. Either way Florida and Texas can pay him a lot of money. I don't see any reason to jump at the Texas job from Florida. Texas isn't exponentially better right now.

Texas is not a rebuild. That is where I think people are wrong. It is just amazing that Texas can possess one of the best DE tandems in the country and not stop the run. Texas is a car. Its sells for 40K assembled, but if you sold its parts separately it would fetch 80k in the open market.

Better than Oklahoma did in the Cotton bowl.....

Oklahoma faced the Heisman winner and a team that beat bama at home. Florida got their shit pushed in by Louisville. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I think we could see Al Golden as the next Texas coach very soon.
-
He is on the watch list. I would add Mora and Freeze to that list. I joked last week to a friend. "take Ole Miss and the pts, Saturday will be Hugh's first interview in Austin."

I'd say they got a lot better later in the year, but this isn't about defending Oklahoma. Ill readily admit they got slammed by A&M, but I think it's pretty ridiculous to talk shit about Oklahoma's bowl game when Florida got their shit pushed in by a non AQ school.

Lot of rumored names on that list.

I've heard:
David Shaw
Charlie Strong
Jim Mora Jr
Gary Patterson
Al Golden
Larry Fedora
Art Briles
Bill O'Brien
Kevin Sumlin

It gets longer every day. I think Texas can get ANY coach they want, assuming they are willing to pay the price for him. However, I don't think a lot of coaches will be worth paying that price.

I think I'm more concerned about who they hire as an AD than anything else. And for those curious, it will NOT be Mack Brown. They want the "best AD" in the country, or so the president has said.
