I guess the Kobe haters will call BS on Howard finally speaking out on what Kobe said during the pitch? He stated, kobe never said nothing like that and every "source" was inaccurate. Most of you will still side with "sources"... right?

I don't think Howard had a problem with LA and handling the pressure there. He's been in the media spotlight since he was 17.

I think the bigger issue, something Laker fans have so far proven unable to grasp - is that if you actually LOOK at the Laker organization right now - it's not very attractive.

You have a FO in disarray - Dwight witnessed the internal struggle between Jim and Jeannie.......nobody was listening to his input.......a coach he didn't like........a starting PG at 40........and an aging superstar that doesn't pass the ball in Kobe.........

The only thing they offered him realistically was more money. It was a bad fit from the get go, but Lakers fans are going to be fans and instead of accepting the reality, will shift the blame on to Howard and say "he couldn't handle it"

BULLSHIT.

He could handle it. YOU can't handle that he turned your team down.

Why do you have to be a hater to disagree? Its not BS. Its called killing the noise. Why make it an issue for the media to grab onto and create more mayhem? He's smart for saying that. Interesting that Kobe never denied it to my knowledge. I don't take much stock in what people say to the media really. I look at the body language and micro expressions when people interact. i know Howard doesn't like Kobe and is a bit intimidated by him by the way he acts. When Kobe said he was good for another 3-4 years I pretty much knew Howard was gone. If it was a just a rumor it still forced Howard to consider how it was going to make him look true or not.

Yeah, let's go with what "sources" say and our own biased perceptions re: body language on t.v. rather than what the person ACTUALLY says!! That's always more accurate!!

The only "issue" between Kobe and Dwight that has been consistently reported on throughout the season has been that Dwight thinks Kobe takes things too seriously (true) and Kobe thinks Dwight doesn't take things seriously enough (also true).

The only other consistently reported issue was that Howard wanted the offense to be more post oriented (hence why he wanted Phil rather than D'Antoni) and that is a coaching issue, not a Kobe issue!!

Yeah thats really smart. Lets put more stock in what people say because no one on earth has ever lied. I don't even know why we have the word in our dictionary. Try as you might you cannot fake body language unless you have the ability to control your inner state at all times.

I don't buy the whole "LA has more pressure" idea either.

Maybe the Lakers is a more pressure situation, much like the Dallas Cowboys is in football, because of the expectations but LA itself....

don't buy it for a second and I'll tell you why I say that.

If simply playing in LA causes more pressure, then that would mean that playing for the Clippers is a high pressure situation and I don't think there's a person on this board who would be able to say that playing for the Clippers is the same as playing for the Lakers when it comes to pressure.

And if someone does believe that to be true, I got some Arizona swampland located in Montana to sell you real cheap.

Hell, there's more pressure playing for the Little Town Rockets than there is playing for the Clippers.

The point is, we don't know WHAT was or was not said because none of us were in the meeting!! If you dislike Kobe and/or the Lakers, then you are going to believe whatever paints him/them in the worst light. If you are a fan of Kobe and/or the Lakers then you are going to believe whatever paints them in the best light.

Bottom line is, none of us know and will likely never know, exactly what was or was not said!! And just because you THINK you can read someone's body language on t.v. doesn't mean that you can. Body language can be very subtle and is fairly complicated.

Of course, you'll probably regale us all with what an expert you are in body language!!

People that say its more pressure to play for the Lakers subscribe to the theory that other teams dont set high expectations and demand excellence. I find that hard to believe that the Lakers are the only team that has that expectation.

When people talk about the pressure of playing in L.A. they are talking about the pressure of playing for the Lakers, not L.A. itself. So yes, it's very much like the pressure of playing for the Cowboys.

Comparing the pressure of playing for the Lakers to playing for the Clippers, is like comparing the pressure of playing for the Cowboys to playing for the Texans. For one franchise, championships are the expectation, for the other they aren't.

All year long out here, all anyone talks about on sports radio, etc. are the Lakers. The Clippers are an afterthought, even with CP3 and Griffin and even with the Clippers hiring Doc. The talk shows are all about how the Lakers can get better again and how quickly. You'd think there was no other NBA team in L.A.

Its not a point of believing what was said. That may or may not be true. I can only look at history to calculate the probability. Like I said Kobe has not denied the rumors which makes me think he did say it but that really doesnt matter. I'm not an expert in body language but I know a lot more than the average person. To try and discount something you dont know about is foolish. Don't hate on that knowledge. Get educated yourself and you too can see what I'm talking about. That was a weak comment and frankly beneath what you normally bring.
