Bettman keeps talking about league-wide parity and coaches/GMs continually mention that the margin between winning and losing is razor thin. If that truly is the case, then why do we still have a draft lottery? I say all 14 non-playoff teams should have an equal shot at getting the No. 1 overall pick or should be able to move up any number of places in draft position.
If teams don't like the approach, here's a suggestion: Fire your GM and get somebody in there who can damn well get the job done.
