Honestly when he brought in Lowe I thought that we were going to lose. Just unacceptable
I honestly had chalked it up as a loss whenever I heard Feldman was on the hill.

Yeah, I just really don't understand why Wash would let Mark Lowe pitch in any kind of important situation. Did he not learn his lesson from the World Series or the multiple other times he failed? Why pitch your worst pitcher in a series with the division title on the line?
and i also have to wonder why he would start Feldman with the division title on the line

^this.Because of darvish's stiff neck?

i would have rather seen them move someone else up. anyone but Feldman
who? no one else is playing... (in AAA or AA)
so you're going to move perez up to pitch last night.
Who pitches tonight? Harrison?
Short rest for the rest of the staff with a 5 game lead in the division?!?!?!?!
I've heard it all now.

Grimm & Font were both called up and i would have used both over Feldman. that doesn't affect the rotation
Grimm was worse than Feldman in his starts and Font couldn't have gone more than 3 innings.
Was Ogando just gassed? Is Tateyama not available? Is Robbie Ross tired? Mike Adams? Anyone? Why in the world was Mark Lowe brought in to a very winnable and important game?
Thought Wash's terse response to the press asking why he picked Lowe over Scheppers. Said they hadn't seen Scheppers throw since he was injured. That was why he wasn't first in before Lowe.
Turns out Scheppers came in and finished the inning.
What I would have responded with ... "well we hadn't seen Lowe either since the last time he was bombed either".
Wasted effort by Feldman (honestly) and Uehara... and flies in the face of the speech after the first game w/OAK about how team needs to pull out the stops and play to win ... blah blah blah.
So the first game was very important ... and apparently the second wasn't or we would never have seen Lowe with a chance to lose a game.
TEX management should know that Lowe is an expert at giving up the long ball in high leverage situations.
have to agree with your assessment. Wash seemed to be content with Game 1 and accepted losing Game 2
so how many innings did Feldman go? i would have gone with Font for 3 innings and then Grimm for 2 or 3 followed by Kirkman & Ogando. and "long-ball" lowe would have never left the bullpen
Nice idea really ... use combination of Font and Grimm to get to Nathan ... then you have Uehara for the 10th and Kirkman the 11th. Wash probably didn't want to count on them in an important game. Wash figured the offense would take the lead late and let Joe close it ... so he was stuck with Lowe in exactly the spot that Lowe has failed in too many times before.
From a pitching perspective ... just can't waste great outings from Kirkman ... not to mention Uehara ... most solid RP on the roster. He is the one you need with the game on the line.
Know it drove you nuts further back in the season when I bagged on YT and Long Ball ... I made the call then that neither were going to contribute to winning in 2012. YT is gone ... and I doubt very much Lowe is given the chance to lose another game in a TEX uniform.
See ya Mark ... hope we see you in the late innings next year throwing long balls for CLE or KCR. Maybe you can link up with YT after his currently hitless career for MIL.
YT was never anything more than a backup catcher and i agree with you that he was not going to contribute to us winning this season. and hopefully you're correct about Lowe not appearing again as a Ranger. i would like to see the same thing happen to Feldman
