Mind is blown. Well, that's a great move in my books. Beej and Thiess are gone then, and this gives the Pens a solid 2nd option, a decent tandem if MAF goes through a rough patch, and a veteran presence to push MAF.

Vokoun was not going back to Washington and had permission to speak with other teams. Several were interested at more than one year.

In my mind this, is an upgrade. If this pushes MAF? Awesome. If injury strikes, I'm thrilled. Also, I'm thrilled he'll not be shutting us out for the next 2 years. God that guy had or number.

i'm not knocking it.. i wanted vokoun over bryz last summer.. just thought it an odd display of 'faith' in fleury when they've preached that over and over for most of his career (aside from the hot-streak and subsequent cup win)

also somewhat surprised this is the route vokoun took.. i would think he'd be able to at least get a crack at a starting gig somewhere?

lol we felt the same a few years back of Curtis Sanford (when he played for the Blues) we thought it was a free 8 points considering we could NEVER beat him

Love it. Fleury has always done better with a solid backup behind him. And he needs a backup to take more games off him. Last year Johnson was like a guaranteed loss.
