Yeah I'm with you. Just because companies are allowed to do something doesn't mean they are. Plus I have three cattle ranches near by I purchase from them a lot now
We have a cattle farm near us. They don't sell individual steaks or roasts. You have to buy a section or a quarter and have it butchered by them. With just the wife and I, buying a quarter of a steer isn't the smartest way to go unless what can't be cut into single steaks is all ground into hamburger.

I've been through all of the heart shit. My large artery coming into the top of my heart (Cardiologists call it the Widowmaker) was blocked 98% in 2005. Both of the cardiologists that worked on me said that they had never seen one blocked more than 80% other than on an autopsy table.
So at 55 I had a quintuple (5) coronary bypass. The only way to bypass the widowmaker is a new artery. They opened a hole next to the original and connected my mammary artery to my heart. Men don't need it for lactating. One of the bypasses collapsed and the surgeon was looking for a way to get blood and saw that the bypassed artery had started cleaning and clearing itself so he put a stent in it. After checking all of the bypasses they checked all of the bypassed arteries and they were doing the same, including the widowmaker which is now about 35% clear. So what now? The extra blood blew out the valve between the upper and lower chamber of my heart so they put in a reinforced pig valve with a bovine (cow leather) casement. They tell me that before I'm 80, they'll have to go in and stent all of the original arteries and close all of the bypasses and depending on which is working better, the widowmaker or the mammary with have to be shut down.

I read the 60% of all male fatal heart attacks occur on the toilet. Pushing and straining the bowels to get rid of waste puts an enormous amount of pressure and stress on the heart and that's the real shit about the heart.

I have high BP, "corrected" by medicines that are killing me.
They want me on a low sodium diet (knee-jerk) when my bloodwork shows very low sodium. Very low.
Low sodium can be very dangerous.
Saturated fat is not bad for me. I have zero blockages. Not all saturated fat is the same.
If it wasn't for the doctors, I would probably live to 103! But I expect them to kill me by 80.
If not the doctors, it will be the pharma paying them to force the pills down your throat, or the politicians that got paid by whoever created margarine, and told us saturated fats are the problem.

I heard the early tests that showed margarine was healthier than coconut oil had some early issues comparing the two so they hydrogenated the coconut oil before reaching their conclusion. Any surprise that hydrogenated saturated fat is bad for you? That test was used as an early basis for declaring margarine better than saturated fats.

I'm following the doctor right now. My way has proven not to work so it's time to listen for a while.

It's not the straining. It's because the vagus nerve runs from the brain to the heart to the anus.

Part of the sympathetic nervous system.

100%

Margarine was invented to feed to turkeys to fatten them up.
It killed them so they started tell humans it was healthier than butter.

1 molecule away from plastic.

I have had 2 fiends that used their Miata for high-speed autocross. One had gutted his nice car. all seats and liners torn out.
Carbon fiber seat for the driver.
The other was my sister in law. She offered wife and I her Miata for the long weekend while she was out of town.
I said no and she asked why?
I said I'm a professional racer and you don't want me driving your race car.....

I know me. I know what I would do with it!
Yeah I get it. I am considering a convertible for retirement something to putz around in, weekend trips etc. Toyota use to make the Solara but most ragtops are European and costly. Mustang has an Eco Boost which looks nice. I dont know had bad luck with Ford in the past

Wife and I used to rent a Miata convertible for weekends when we were younger and could find weekend babysitters (grandmothers). I'm 6'2" and we couldn't put the top up with me in it. I had to ride shotgun and tip the seat back. Loved those little buggers.

As far as buying a convertible, I bought my wife a 2007 Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible. The top folded into the trunk. If you can find one, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. She drove that thing from 2009 until 2020. Gave it to my daughter's stepson when I gave her the Lincoln MKT which she still drives today.

I had a Honda Del Sol years ago. It was fun but noisy even when riding with the top on. Also as we age getting down into it and then getting up out if it proves a little challenging. In 2012 we got a Lexus IS350 hard top convertible to replace it. Now that was a sweet ride and Lexus dealerships take great care of you.

Miata, Del Sol... are sport cars.

Can't the same be said for any car, stock vs modified?
I'd start killing again to get my 1956 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery back.

1970 Chevy 396 with twin 4 barrell.
1971 Corvette transmission and rear end.

That thing could shit and git.

Total conversion from the Cushman Bakery Delivery wagon, which was driving 100 miles a day and making fifty home stops to deliver bread, donuts, and cookies.
