To set up a zone defense you have to get back to set it up. The Pacers have not been giving the Knicks time to set up a zone even if they wanted to. Also, zones are only played as a surprise change of pace in the NBA because they are pretty easy to break down with penetration and kick out, overloading, etc..

Easy to say cause they haven’t tried it!

Knicks haven’t even tried a half court press , while the pacers deny the inbound pass very first play of game

Cmon now, the Knicks are gettin outcoachedbin every facet of game. And they still hang around, now add a strategist as coach, different series imo

lol please, at high school level we had 4 seconds to get back on D, ya think they could do better than that at this level?
at least 4 of the 5 guys didn't make it in 4 seconds if they were actually playing offense. In a drill just running back sure. But you do this you concede every offensive rebound opportunity.

This thread has been entertaining because the dumbest person, pasta, thinks he's smart & always right.

Maybe they just have a better team. And Rick Carlisle is definitely no slouch of a coach.

Not sure I would say dumbest, that is quite a competition at times.

Plus, you may not know, he was a high level athlete.

Sorry bro, you work hard on the court and some luck comes your way.

thibs does not prepare his team

just try to outplay a team with your best players with more time on court. It doesn’t work that way .

He got exposed, he made a change , and now that he did, it will work against him when they go on to lose. Just the way it is.

I'm sure Thibs just runs scrimmages during practice. Just lets the guys do whatever they want. There is no working on skills or strategy at all in the Knicks gym and film rooms.

That was sarcasm Pasta, just had to make sure you could tell.

Didn't he beat George Santos at the U.S. Open? :noidea:

I’m not the one here with a Ph.d and a serious reading comprehension

Did you pay for that paper you submitted to receive such an honor?

On pasta's video game system the Knicks are going for their 4th title in a row.

Thank you for acknowledging my serious reading comprehension. I'm not sure exactly what serious reading comprehension is as I do comprehend humor as well. But I do know that reading comprehension is an issue for you.

You do often have to pay to submit papers to journals, but a few copies of the thesis is usually covered by the department. And I was in a field that you can usually use research grants to cover publishing costs. Thanks for your concern.

That wasn’t a compliment, but in your delusional world, I guess it is!

Since ya gave me your resume I’ll remind you again , I played in 2 MLB organizations

Saw first hand how the big boys prepared for a season and I assure you it was nothing you’re makin it sound to be

And nowadays, it’s even less , as they go right into game’s situations in most major sports

You thought it wasn't a compliment, but you did not complete your thought. You just said I had serious reading comprehension. Reading comprehension is generally thought a a good skill, if you have a reading comprehension disorder, that is when you would like to seek some help. I have come far from giving you a resume. Getting a Ph.D. is usually just the start of a career.

I have not made the any assumptions about how pros prepare for the game except I'm sure in the modern day it is quite a bit more advanced than it was back when you played in the minors in, what, the '80's. 40 years was a little while ago.

I do find is slightly amusing that you couldn't glean that my response was pretty clearly facetious.

Again CLUELESS

I posted several times before you posted that the pacers were a better team , you clearly missed it since you posted after it with ‘ maybe the pacers are a better team. Dementia?

You didn’t make any assumptions?

How bout the scrimmages comment you made in how Thibs prepares his players?

Since you’re not at a practice session, that has to be an assumption , remember when you assumption you make an ass of you Wamu tlance and a few others on here…

Lastly, what’s changed in the 40 years in baseball. Honestly imo they have lowered the standards by tryin to cheat more. selig ruined the game by turning a blind eye to steroid use in players abusin it cause ya can’t lift and play ball at same time, takes 48 hours for muscle to heal after rippin them.. COMMON SENSE here, also the balls have been messed with and the bats they use today have a shellack finish on them which makes the BALL take off. The jug guns are BS, now everyone is thrown 100 MPH

What happened to BA’s. Can’t blame shift anymore…

For the 80 millionth time…

Your experience playing minor league baseball almost 40 years ago has almost nothing in commons with today’s NBA players.

Nothing.
